  1. I don’t have a background in the music business, so I don’t know how this works. But I would think that if you’re still getting royalties for your own music being used, wouldn’t you hang onto its rights rather than sell them? Or is there a kind of expiration on those rights at some point — the music become public domain?

In any event, Young was a horse’s ass for trying to cancel Rogan with an empty threat.

  2. Neil Young has become that stereotype of an old man clinging to the past.
“Old man look at my life,…”
Little did he know at the time how prophetic his song would reflect on himself.
Ironic karmic twist, like a kick in the nuts.
    “Hey Hey, My, My”

  3. All these big artists want their money now, instead of waiting or leaving it to their inheritors so they sell the lifetime rights for big $$$.
When you sell those rights the songs can be used however the contract allows – maybe car commercials, diaper commercials, Spotify, whatever.
If that crazy old man interfered with the legal sales of those songs on Spotify by writing that letter the buyer can sue the crap out of that crazy old man.

  4. Donald Trump is actually a huge fan of Neil. They were on friendly terms before he became president. ‘Whatever it is – Neil’s got it.” But he’s also a savvy business man. Why own the catalogue when you can just own the cd’s – especially with a loose cannon nut like Neil.

  5. It never fails. Once you check the history of those who hate Trump, conservatives, you’d see they wanted favors in the past and either did not get it or were denied.

Almost all of them are like that.
