Attention – IOTW Report

Attention

The name “anonymous” will no longer be used as a screen name for commenting.

This DOES NOT have to do with any legit reader, we are inundated with spam with the user name anonymous.

So, we have to strike it.

It may not be permanent.

  1. I’m betting there will be some creative derivations on “anonymous” thrown out there. For instance…. A Non-Imus or even a non-sensical one like A Nonny Moose. ๐Ÿ˜†

    Thank you.
And don’t ban me just because I don’t have a gravity.
    (we all float down here……)

  3. What? Innominate is perfect. Roll with that. All we want to do is not rag on the wrong idiot. Now get a question mark gravitar and all will be right with the worl’.

  4. But we try so hard to not be doxxed, now everyone will know that it is I Menotu trying to be incognito and then everyone will know that I’m me and not you.
    There goes Christmas.

  5. I prefer not to have a gravatar. I’d have to enroll in graduate gravatar school to figure one out AND keep them straight.

It’s difficult enough remembering WHO I am at any one time.

  6. :Reviewing Ann Nonymous Primes file:

Ah yes, Frau Prime. I have been reading your file. You’re an excellent Gฬถeฬถrฬถmฬถaฬถnฬถ poster in good standing, family tree excellent.

However….your reticence to openly wear a Party badge has been noted. To avoid any public scandal or further investigations, I’ve decided to grant you access to the gravatar site.

    https://en.gravatar.com/

Obviously this is top secret information that we don’t want falling into the wrong hands so if you could please sign up and then burn your computer to leave no trace, that would be greatly appreciated.

  7. @Burr–

Your kindness is greatly appreciated (again. Which should set you guessing).

However, it took me years to figure out a gravatar on twitter; NOT gonna go through that again. I prefer to keep the personae low-key and separate.

  8. You suffer from a lack of concentration, eh?

    WE HAVE CAMPS FOR THAT.

Nah I’m just kiddin’, yer’ alright.

Wanna’ know why I want everyone to have a gravatar? Aesthetics. It looks better. More colorful when the side bar is full of gravatars. When it’s all blank it’s looks like this place is run by NPC’s.

    For Art’s sake, gravatar up.

  9. Great!…when all anonymous are band then the only true anonymous will still be anonymous. You’re all anonymous.

The gravitar idea helps immediately because there’s extra labor involved and some posters here just ain’t got the mental capacity or will

  10. Look at you with no White pride. You could switch out your gravatars constantly to feature a prominent evil white guy from history.

Where is your genetically passed down desire to exploit and self promote?

You could start with Jonas Salk.

  11. “So you sanctimonious people posting under fake names with your little pictures think you are special.
Some of us just donโ€™t want to play that game.”

I’m saving your soon to be deleted comment to point out that we’re technically “sanctimonious special censorious people who like to play games”

Again, not your website, not your rules.

  12. “^^^^^ and Eric the scumbag along with Bradโ€™s comment prove to be the real problem with commenting”

Really. So you think you can change your I.D. to attack someone you’re jealous of and then flip it back. I’m seeing zero masculinity there. No Balls. But yet you think that’s a stand up thing to do? Like I’ve told you before. Go take a hard look in the mirror. What do you see?

  13. What problem with commenting? You can type whatever you want.

You can be a fucking insidious moron, or you could try to make some fucking sense.

    Your choice.

  15. Iโ€™m thinking we should do what we should have done right from the beginning. Any worm that insists on some sort of creative version of anonymous needs to be ignored, not responded to in any form. Letโ€™s hope they go away.

  16. As a regular reader here, I wanted to say thank you for the time, effort and resources spent on making this service available.
It’s so refreshing to see there are people out there who are fighting back against the crazies/woke/far-left lunatics and the narrative they are trying to set.
I appreciate it folks. Keep it up.

  17. In regards to the “named spam” that we all see, is there an option to ban IP addresses or even a span of IP addresses? Just a thought, as it used to work when I administered a couple of boards awhile back.

Although, now that I think about it, it (IP bans) could prove to be difficult with the rampant use of VPNs currently. But, I have been out of the game for quite awhile now. Just spitballin’.

Anyway, best to you and your fellow mods/admins in your efforts in cleaning up your sandbox.

No, joe6pak, that’s not going to work. We have long-time readers/commenters like Anymouse and Ann Nonymous Prime who should not be eliminated from using their chosen screen names.

  19. And the reality is, is that I believe most of us are not looking to eliminate an anonymous as much as we would like to see somehow making the names unique so that we know who is commenting or who we might be responding to.
