A bus from Texas arrived in Washington, D.C. Wednesday morning, transporting dozens of illegal immigrants as part of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s new plan to counter federal immigration policies during an ongoing border crisis.
Abbott announced last week that he was directing the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to transport migrants released from federal custody in Texas to the nation’s capital and other locations outside his state.
The bus pulled up at approximately 8 a.m. local time, blocks away from the U.S. Capitol building. Fox News has learned that they came from the Del Rio sector in Texas, after coming to the U.S. from Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.
Upon the bus’s arrival in Washington, D.C., individuals disembarked one by one except for family units who exited together. They checked in with officials and had wristbands they were wearing cut off before being told they could go.
According to TDEM, Abbott’s plan is already working. The agency told Fox News on Monday that many of the communities that originally reached out for support – from the Rio Grande Valley to Terrell County – say the federal government stopped dropping immigrants in their towns since Abbott’s announcement on April 6. more

Those buses are far and few between to make an impact I’m afraid. The left will just laugh it off. To make an impact they need to send train loads.
It’d be cheaper and a shorter drive if they’d point those busses south and took them back from whence they came.
Keep em rolling, wherever liberals live and work since they are the ones bringing them in.
I had a friend from Honduras who immigrated to the US. Too him two years and a lot of red tape but he did it the right way and loves America. He is a college educated professional also and a great guy.

Call me cynical but this seems to be an Abbott re-election campaign stunt. If he was serious he would have 100 buses show up daily which could easily be done given the amount of illegals coming in daily.
First if Abbott really gave a shit, he would have had the Texas National Guard on the border the day after Biden was installed as old Joe has threatened exactly what he’s done. Although I never would have guessed that over 2 million would cross in the first year.
Finally 1 bus! That’s it?? That’s bullshit as others have pointed out. What he really needs to do is just drop kick their asses right back. A couple days of that and bet your last donut Mexico would be taking some action.
You have to understand, Mexico is in the hands of the cartels and the cartels’ best customer for their products is us. Whatever they can do to under mine this country’s ability to resist, they’re gonna do. With the will we could make a no cartel zone 100 miles wide on the Mexican side of our border as well as destroy all of their infrastructure & organizational capabilities.
Just like with China, we’re intentionally hamstringing ourselves. Sickening.
First bus, or only bus? Keep ’em rollin’! I have heard that if the illegals wish for a less crowded destination than DC, they can make their way to Florida to get a free bus ride to Delaware.
