In an extraordinary move, Musk has offered to buy Twitter to take the company private and ‘unlock’ its ‘free speech’ potential.
Elon Musk has launched a $41.39 billion hostile takeover of Twitter, the world’s most influential social media platform.
On early Thursday, Musk made his “best and final” offer to buy Twitter Inc., stating that he intends to unlock the company’s “extraordinary potential.” As predicted by Rebel News on Monday, Musk’s rejection of a position on the company’s board of directors unshackled him to purchase more than 14.9% of the stock.
Musk’s current 9.1% stake in the company makes him Twitter’s largest individual shareholder.
“I now realize the company will neither thrive nor serve this societal imperative in its current form. Twitter needs to be transformed as a private company,” said Musk in a statement.
According to Bloomberg, Musk, who’s the world’s richest man, will pay $54.20 per share in cash, representing a 54% premium over the company’s Jan. 28 closing price. It will cost Musk a cool $41.39 billion – above its current market valuation of $37 billion.
Musk, who’s worth around $260 billion, can certainly afford the purchase.
Oh, the frustration all the leftists will have. Take or refuse someone else’s money.
I’m tempted to say that their hatred of Elon and free speech won’t let them accept his offer, but I’d love to be wrong.
If they don’t accept his offer, Twitter’s stock will plummet. Then Elon can make another offer for 1 billion and they will snap it up.
My cloudy, rainy day just got brighter.
Though I don’t and most likely won’t use Twitter the thought of all the Twitter employees fighting over the coloring books and stuffed animals in their safe spaces brings me great joy.
And just like that, Congress will stop talking about it and begin to rein in big tech.
They cannot refuse…
This will determine if twatter’s leadership consists of actual business people or leftist propagandists.
I hope this crushes twatter and then Truth Social can then take off.

No thank you. No, our stock will not plummet, in fact it keep going up, to infinity & beyond. Twitter is just fine without Elon involved.
The board is subject to lawsuit if it refuses, the offer is very generous and their job is to look out for the interest of the shareholders.
But they will be petty and reject it anyway. Meanwhile Elon will continue to accumulate shares.
Had this been disguised as free government money they would have accepted it with no problems.

@Toenex: Elon was tossing around the idea of turning the Twitter building into a homeless hotel. He says the building is practically empty because employees work from home. I can only imagine what that building would look like in just 3 days of occupancy.
