When I get ahold of a pitch I can feel it through the bat and it is gone.

“Work Out Those Legs”
Back when I was a young whipper snapper I got a good lesson in Muscle Size VS Muscle efficiency. I believe the year was 1980. The Olympic track and field team trained at De Anza Jr. College. And invaded my freaken gym. Trying to think of the big “stars” name back then. I think it was Casey something or other. He was on the cover of Sport Illustrated, constant local news coverage. A very big guy. AND weaker than shit. Mean while there’s this guy training there that looks like a freaken accountant reping 425 squats, full squats for like twenty reps. I remember his name. Art Burns. He benched about the same. Meanwhile Mr SI struggled with 315. If you were looking at them, Art was half the size of Mr. Hollywood, but twice as strong. Lyle Alzado worked out there for a while too. Pitiful bench. He told us young guys, yea so what. We were like no big deal Mr. Alzado just please don’t chase us down in the parking lot. Every Friday night a bunch of us from that gym would split for dinner after our work out. He came along a few times. A very pleasant guy.
Forgot to mention, Burns was an Olympic Hammer Thrower. And another great guy to talk with.
My boys are glued tonight to the games. Hate hearing sh-t talk but know it’s part of the game. Love seeing Homeruns that are well deserved!
Say your prayers everyday!
God Bless us all!
I saw President Trump’s signature dance move at the end.
