  1. It’s nice to see some positive social interaction among people nowadays.
I always try to give an upbeat greeting to people I come across. It doesn’t hurt and may end up making that person’s day.
I know my positive interactions with my delivery people have resulted in extra effort on their part during later deliveries, like making sure packages are shielded from rain or hidden in a bush with a photo of the location in the online announcement.

  2. I wonder if this was the FedEx driver that had my “when it absolutely has to be there overnight” package on his truck. I paid $100 for “guaranteed” overnight delivery by 10.30am the next day from Houston to San Diego. Said package arrived 11.20am three days later.

  3. I can dunk or shoot a basketball, but I bet I can back a truck up better than that driver.

I honestly don’t know why they put reverse gears in cars anymore. None of the kids know how to use it, or even try to. Especially the ones who got their DL during covid.

  4. my recurring FedEx driver story:

the house I live in is exactly what I always wanted: a farm house in the middle of nowhere, New Mexico, minus the farm. all the land and privacy without the work. it shows up in pictures from back before the depression.

google maps shows this house, and half a dozen other houses in the neighborhood, as being in a dry wash a couple hundred yards up the highway. Bing maps gets it right. I get packages delivered here twice a month by FedEx. But, sometimes, you get a not so bright new driver who gets hung up on “and on the 8th day God invented google maps”

a recent package got scanned in 40 locations, and is shown as having been delivered to Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

try to find a contact number or email address for FedEx.

  5. Thirdtwin- You need to hang around Okla. for a while. Everybody here thinks that they have to back into a parking space. Don’t ask me why, but they just do. I guess so they can make a fast getaway from Walmart?

  6. I have watched in amazement as truck drivers have backed semis around corners, up a ramp and through doors with 6″ of clearance on the sides.

    On the first attempt.

Backing my trailer up pales in comparison.

  7. My experience was a comedy of errors from beginning to end. The package I sent included documents that cost me more than $1k to obtain. Also a multitude of personal information that would be a scammers dream.

Took original documents (in two separate sealed envelopes) to the Fed Ex desk at Office Depot. Spent 40 minutes with the customer service person (who couldn’t figure out that a 14 x 20 envelope wouldn’t fit into an 8 x 11 box). Had to buy a six pack of bubble envelopes ($30) to get one that fit my shipment. Paid $100 to have the package shipped the next day. Didn’t happen. Dozy Office Depot employee put my shipment in the USPS bin instead of FedEx bin. Package gets moved to Fed Ex bin next day, duly picked up. Reaches CA and on truck for delivery! Yeah! Notified that package had been deivered (two days late, yeah!). Receipient advises that package had not been delivered. Delivery driver apparently (how the actual fuck does this happen) said it was delivered and signed for WHEN IT WASN’T! Called FedEx, was told that the package was in their facility and that the delivery driver had made a “mistake” when he recorded it had been delivered. Promised it would be there between 8.30am and 10.30am the next day. It finally got there at 11.20am. That delay, for reasons I can’t go into here, probably cost me between 5K & 10K.
