Democrat Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) said that gas prices “didn’t matter” to her because she drives an electric vehicle while millions of Americans feel the financial burden of record-high gas prices.
Stabenow’s remarks came during Tuesday’s Senate Finance Committee hearing about President Joe Biden’s fiscal year 2023 budget.
“On the issue of gas prices, after waiting for a long time to have enough chips in this country to finally get my electric vehicle, I got it and drove it from Michigan to here this last weekend and went by every single gas station and it didn’t matter how high it was,” Stabenow said.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity for us to move to vehicles that aren’t going to be dependent on the whims of the oil companies and the international markets,” she added. more

I had no trouble buying an electric vehicle and having people add lots of electrical gimcrackery to my house because I have a high paying Government job that I don’t have to show up to at any particular time.

EV’s are not feasible. Our grid can’t handle the mass adaptation to EV’s, there aren’t enough supercharging stations. Then when you look at the mining and producing of the materials to make the batteries, it is certainly not environmentally friendly.
Of course we’re all jumping to the conclusion that she’s telling the truth about driving from Michigan to DC in an electric car.

How many days before a Hurricane hits do I have to leave SW Florida if I have an electric vehicle? When we left town to have to not experience hurricane Irma first hand, we had to drive almost 800 miles to even find a place to stay overnight. A lot of that was in stop and go traffic because not surprisingly, the rest of SW FL had the same idea.

When I was still in construction we were working at an office complex in Southfield , Mich and she was coming out the exit about 20 feet behind me. I did not hold the door for her and feel damn good about it.
…you know, even if they did build a network of 24 hour “fast” recharge stations with Pedo’s illegal hijacking of private business for stupid infrastructure fantasies, for current tech that means you’re sitting in 1 place for 30 minutes or so, tethered to a machine while you sit in your car in a not necessarily heavily occupied recharge station in the dark if you’re attempting an overnight trip. Maybe a good time to kick back and take a nap.
