Former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe dead at 67 after assassination

Japan’s longest-serving Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was assassinated by a gunman during a campaign speech Friday in Nara, Japan.

Friday’s shocking assassination of Japan’s former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in one of the world’s safest countries stunned leaders and drew condemnation, with Iran calling it an “act of terrorism” while Spain slammed the “cowardly attack.” Abe, 67, was shot from behind in Nara in western Japan while giving a campaign speech. He was airlifted to a hospital but was not breathing and his heart had stopped. He was pronounced dead later at the hospital. Abe was Japan’s longest-serving leader before stepping down in 2020 for health reasons. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who hastily returned to Tokyo from campaign events around the country, called the shooting “dastardly and barbaric.”

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, speaking with the Japanese and South Korean foreign ministers at a trilateral meeting in Bali, said Abe’s assassination was “profoundly disturbing” and a “personal loss for so many people.” “For the United States, Prime Minister Abe was an extraordinary partner and someone who clearly was a great leader for Japan and the Japanese people,” Blinken said, adding that Abe, during his time in office, “brought the relationship between our countries — the United States and Japan — to new heights.” Leaders from Turkey to Singapore condemned the attack, and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called the shooting “despicable.” Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy tweeted his “deepest condolences to his family and the people of Japan at this difficult time.” “This heinous act of violence has no excuse,” he added.

  1. Since Japan has very strict gun laws, the belief is that the weapon was illegally brought across the border from a legal sale in Indiana.
    When will they learn???

  2. God forbid, that this happens to biden, the last thing the United States and the world need is for joey to be turned into a left-wing martyr. If you are old enough to remember JFK murdered by Lee Harvey Oswald (I was 10 at the time), killing joey would be far worse and a total disaster for our great nation. I want joey to face God’s justice and not man’s justice, if joey were to be killed by an assassin it would just make everything worse and give us either VP Harris or even worse Pelosi. And that’s a nightmare scenario of biblical proportions.

  3. “Police have arrested a suspected gunman at the scene. Under Japanese law, possession of firearms, as well as certain kinds of knives and other weapons, like bowguns, is illegal without a special license. Importing them is also illegal.”

I’ve read 5 articles now on the assassination, and, above is all that I found on the gunman. If it happened in the US, we’d know within an hour “5 Things You Need to Know About the Gunman.” I’d like to know the motive other than hating that person. If it were Biden or Obama getting whacked, we all would know the reason behind it. Piss poor reporting….don’t care what other leaders are saying. Maybe “good riddance?”

When was the last time we had a beloved president here in the US?

  4. The thing with the Japanese system of justice: They close cases by arresting whomever is close by. They then beat a confession out of him, then give him a harsh sentence.

If they later find the person who actually committed the crime, that does not alter the situation for the first person convicted. He still serves that harsh sentence.

  5. PM Abe stepped down in 2020 for “health” reasons but was assassinated while campaigning. Did he get healed and want to regain His position? Was he “forced” out by the NWO? Did they permanently retire him? Inquiring minds want to know.

  6. Just like the vax and boosters reducing the severity of covid infections, it’s a good thing they have strict gun control laws in Japan or Abe would be even more dead.

Was he a NWO libtard? Why would those countries say that if he wasn’t?

  8. I’m inexplicably sad after hearing this. I guess it’s because he and Trump got along so well and Abe was a friend of ours too.
