Myth of ‘Moderation’: Is There No Safe Amount of Alcohol?
Mike Dyson, 33, passed away suddenly on Christmas Day after several drinks, before he even had a chance to open his presents.
Dyson went to his neighbor’s house to drink at 1:30 p.m. After drinking about four glasses of whiskey and some hot water, he lay down on a bed. Everyone thought he was sleeping. It wasn’t until around 7 p.m. that his family members and neighbors discovered to their horror that he was not breathing. So they called an ambulance and gave him CPR at the same time.
Unfortunately, he still died at around 8:20 p.m.
The coroner confirmed that he died of central nervous system depression, particularly respiratory depression, caused by acute alcohol intoxication. Toxicological analysis showed that Dyson’s blood alcohol content was very high at the time, four to five times of the legal driving limit, which is equivalent to the state of “extreme drunkenness in a normal person.”
Dyson’s story is just one example of the countless deaths caused by alcohol. The harm caused by alcohol is actually much more common than we think.
Each year, alcohol kills approximately 95,000 people (68,000 men and 27,000 women) in the United States. Alcohol is the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States (the first is tobacco, and the second is poor diet and lack of exercise).
From 2006 to 2014, alcohol-related emergency room visits increased by 47 percent. Of all emergency cases, 18.5 percent were alcohol-related. In 2019, there were 10,142 drunk driving deaths in the United States, accounting for 28 percent of all driving deaths.
Alcohol Is a Group 1 Carcinogen and Has a Safe Intake of 0
Did you know that there is no such thing as a “safe intake of alcohol”?
Alcoholic beverages have long been classified as Group I carcinogens by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).
In 2018, top international medical journal The Lancet gave alcohol drinkers a bitter pill to swallow. After a systematic review of alcohol consumption and health effects in 195 countries from 1990 to 2016, this study concluded that the safe intake of alcohol is zero.
Many people believe that drinking red wine is good for their health. In fact, this is mainly due to the presence of resveratrol in red wine. You can also get resveratrol from purple or dark red grapes, blueberries, cranberries and peanuts without the intake of alcohol. You can also have a glass of rich grape juice instead, and benefit from the resveratrol content without the negative effects of alcohol.
I assume he slammed those four whiskeys instead of spacing them out. Or he was a total feather-weight as a drinker and his system just couldn’t handle it. (For the record, I don’t drink, and I wouldn’t attempt it myself, for just this reason.)
At this point in time, who cares! I’m going to enjoy a couple glasses of wine, or maybe a beer on a hot day, or a shot of whiskey on a cool night. So fuck all these WEF’s, and bill gates and everyone else that wants to tell me what feels good. Kiss my homesick ass!
Being alive should be classified as Group I carcinogen. One stray gamma ray or some radon gas and whack.
Life itself carries a death sentence.
So don’t waste too much time with stupid bullshit, like liberals.
You can rationalize all you want, but nothing good comes from drinking.

Now they tell us!
You will eat the bugs and you will not wash it down with a glass of Chianti.
Four glasses?
Four buckets?
Four tumblers, maybe?
That’s kind of vague.
Anti-alcohol zealots. Fuck off. Join izlam.
The simple fact is: nobody gets out alive.
Live like a monk, eat bugs, eat shit, drink goose-water, whatever – you’re still gonna die.
I’m sick of maggots doing “studies” that show, mostly, their zealotry.
Globaloney Warming, Acid Rain, Alar, Radon, Ozone Hole, Wuhan Flu, Carcinogenic Alcohol, Anti-Tobacco, Nuclear Winter, &c. – ALL BULLSHIT; ALL THE TIME.

“I only Keep Whiskey in case of Snake bites….I also keep a Snake”
The whiskey in and of itself didn’t do Mike in. Mike did himself in by consuming too much alcohol in too short a time.
I’m NOT disposing of my Glenlivet 18-Year-Old Single Malt because of this article

Yet, it was legalized just like pot – for the tax money that it creates. DUIs, manslaughter, damaged property, fights with family, and yet it all can be bought down on the street corner. Alcohol and drugs is here to stay, it generates too much revenue to ban it.
Some so called friends in my fighter squadron got me way too drunk one Saturday night in Olongapo City in the Philippines, they thought it would be as funny as hell to get me violently drunk and I drank 13 rum and cokes in about an hr. and a half. I was young and stupid and didn’t know any better. I don’t know how I managed to get back to the Kitty Hawk that night, but another friend found me and helped me get back to the ship. The next day I ended up worshipping the porcelain gods and puking my guts out. I had to learn my lesson the hard way which is why I don’t drink any alcohol including beer, wine, hard liquor. I don’t like the taste of any alcoholic beverage which are all bitter tasting to me.
it was the hot water that got him
No wonder his vacuums and fans are so damn expensive.
Fuck it, I’ll take my chances
My need for alcohol is hereditary and my body doesn’t produce its own so I take supplements.
If it is so bad, then explain to me how it makes that gal shitting at the end of the bar look so hot?
I forgot his name (Bob Dornan?), but there was a conservative Congressman from California who used to fill in for Rush from time to time. I remember him quoting the statistics that the things Goldenfoxx mentioned and more went way down during Prohibition.
I remember mentioning to a lesbian I worked with that Domestic Violence was almost unheard of during Prohibition. She said that was not true because men were allowed to murder their wives back then.
I do find it very odd that because of COVID they lock people up and put them into forced isolation, then they start to talk about how alcohol is not good in any amount. When I was in the hospital two weeks ago, I remember thinking how awful and depressed I would have felt if Mrs. RMM and my son could not come to see me.
Are they really sure Dyson died from alcohol, or could it have been from Global Warming? Even if it was the alcohol, the guy downs a huge amount in a short period of time and they use that to show that alcohol in any amount is bad for you. Meanwhile, they set up “safe” drug injection sites.
Per the liberal “scoientist”:
“Tell me your preferred outcome, and I can twist any study for you”.
Like coffee, I never could develop a taste for any of it. It all tastes terrible to me. I do agree with Tim, however.
Scientific studies always find whatever will lead to more grant money.
Jesus changed water to wine so how could it be bad? Surely He drank it Himself. Too much water will kill if enough drank in a short time, everything in moderation.
Everything in moderation.
I don’t understand why this paranoid article is posted here.
This article made me so anxious I have to have a drink. Think I’ll make it a double.
That’s a lie. Alcohol pickled Nancy Pelosi.
