Home of Nevada county official searched in connection with murder of Las Vegas reporter

Reporter had covered embattled county public administrator’s career in detail.

Just The News:

Police searched the home of a Clark County, Nev. administrator early on Wednesday, allegedly in connection with the recent slaying of a Las Vegas newspaper reporter who had spent considerable time reporting on the administrator’s political career.

Reporters with the Las Vegas Review-Journal observed police “outside the home of Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles, who had been the focus of recent reporting by” Jeff German, the slain journalist who was found dead outside his Las Vegas home on Sunday.

German had “spent months reporting on the turmoil surrounding Robert Telles’ oversight” of the public administrator’s office, the Review-Journal said. Telles, a Democrat, had lost his reelection bid earlier this year following investigative reports by German, who “also had recently filed public records requests for emails and text messages between Telles and three other county officials,” the paper said.  more

  1. I was a Nevada elected official for many years and spent a lot of time working with legislators to introduce a bill one session designed to overhaul the Public Administrator’s function in Nevada in order to close what I thought were some huge loopholes that opened up opportunities for corruption. You know who fought it the hardest? Clark County.
