Newsom is set to sign into law a bill that Weiner drafted that states California will be a sanctuary state for minors that want hormone treatment or trans-surgery when their parents don’t agree.
What does that mean?
Called SB 107, California courts can take custody of the child, even if out of state, and facilitate the administration of whatever body altering actions the child wants performed.
California has essentially decided that parenting is not the future. The future means that the children are in charge of decision making and California is there to make that happen.
The bill states that a child must be present in the state for the measures to take effect, but, continues to say that physical presence in the state is “not necessary” to make a determination about custody. Either way, this law goes far beyond any established form of government intervention in personal family matters.
Senator Wiener [is] the same radical who introduced pieces of legislation that would allow anyone 12 or older to get vaccinated without parental consent, mandate drag queen story hour in grade school, and relax the punishment for child sex offenders, among others – claimed it was necessary for the state to take action because of laws passed elsewhere in the US that restrict minors who identify as transgender from accessing radical and destructive treatments such as cross-sex hormones and surgeries to remove healthy organs. Wiener characterizes these laws that protect American youth as “brutal attacks on transgender children.”

I understand this to allow going to another jurisdiction to obtain custody, or somehow compelling the parents, in another jurisdiction, to relinquish their parental rights/custody.

There are quite a few states that have passed legislation that requires those states to enact the laws that California passes. Watch out you may be in one of them.
