New York City Mayor Eric Adams said on Wednesday that the Row NYC will become the next “humanitarian relief center” to deal with the wave of “asylum seekers,” and that it would house hundreds of immigrant families. According to the New York Post, the costly Times Square four-star Row NYC initially housed 200 migrant families. However, the hotel, originally known as the Milford Plaza, will have to accommodate more in the coming weeks.
The $400 per night is near PS 33, which parents and teachers have complained is already overloaded by the surge of migrant children who can’t speak English. The school, which has just one licensed multilingual teacher, may wind up with even more migrant children as the hotel fills up. The city has seen nearly 19,000 migrants flood the city since May. more
