  1. Some of the cheaper Vodkas etc. are sold in plastic bottles.
I will never buy them. Glass only.

FWIW: Day 4, still not one drink or Red Meat to prove my new Doctor is an IDIOT. (some may remember why)

  2. Don’t you all remember being a kid and the one house had the aluminum pitcher for Kool-Aid. Always tasted like aluminum.
Also, they advertise diet soda more, because it is cheaper to make.
Twix bar, half chocolate -half air, same price.

  3. A friend, whom I often say is the most brilliant person I know (more than 2 dozen patents and climbing), recently worked on a project with a woman who was trying to do canned wine. What he learned is that yes, all aluminum cans have that plastic liner. And for carbonated sodas it works very well. But for nearly all other drinks, from V8 to wine, the canning process leads to cracks in the liner (due to flash subzero conditions), which leads to major problems with quality for the liquid refreshment. So he patented a process that makes it work. In talks with some very large corporations but I don’t think he has licensed it to anyone yet.

  4. I’m curious how it works with cold fill vs hot fill?

I know blow molding of plastics in automation.
Pretty cool, a small test-tube size becomes 16.9 oz bottle at 500 psi ans 200 degrees…

  5. “. But for nearly all other drinks, from V8 to wine, the canning process leads to cracks in the liner (due to flash subzero conditions), which leads to major problems ”

Yea, No. Dan I know a little bit about that. Bull Shit. SO I guess this guys filthy rich off his patents?
You know what I do for a living. If I run into one more braniac with a bazilion patents that wants me to build free shit for the perpetual motion machine he just created I’m gonna shit twinkies. Are his patents Provisional?
Not trying to be an asshole, but they don’t use the same lining for V8 or Snappy Tom as the do for Soda Pop. That’s easy to prove, go buy a couple cans of each and report back

  6. “The clear scientific consensus is that there is no risk to the public from the miniscule amounts of BPA found in beverage cans.”

Phew, thank goodness they’re looking after your health with corn syrup soda in a BPA lined can.

The coof shot is safe too, according to scientific consensus.

  7. Why? Years ago, I remember aluminum was a possible culprit in causing alzheimers, but I don’t remember any details. I worked in an aluminum diecast plant at the time. Also, I don’t remember how to spell Alzhiemers.

  8. @Brad – I may have underexplained, as it was based upon what he told me a couple of years ago. But he is pretty successful and is absolutely brilliant. To relax he tries to solve unsolvable math equations! He said that they cut open all sorts of different cans, and the inside corrosion on most of the non-sodas was pretty bad.

  9. If you have corroded battery terminals on your car and are too lazy to mix up a baking soda solution just pour some coke or pepsi on the terminals and watch it dissolve the corrosion. Then think about what it is doing in your stomach…

  10. I found some 3 year old diet coke cans in the fridge at my work annex and tried one. It tasted horrible (worse than fresh diet coke). I bet it had dissolved the liner.
I hate sodas and avoid drinking them. I just had to taste this one out of curiosity…
