Conservative attorney Harmeet Dhillon is celebrating the House January 6 Committee withdrawing its subpoena against former President Donald Trump.
The victory for The Dhillon Law Group, which Trump hired after being subpoenaed in October for testimony and documents, comes as Dhillon is challenging Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel to lead the Republican National Committee.
“After my firm filed suit on separation of powers grounds to block January 6 House Select Committee’s illegitimate subpoena to President Trump over his activities while president — the committee waved the white flag & withdrew subpoena,” Dhillon said in a tweet Wednesday.
“We were confident of victory,” she added, “in court, given precedent & refusal of prior presidents to testify in Congress. J6 committee wasted millions for a purely political witch-hunt, total abuse of process & power serving no legitimate legislative purpose.”
Dhillon shared a screenshot of a letter signed by January 6 Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) that announced the withdrawal and offered a brief explanation.
“As you may know, the Select Committee has concluded its hearings, released its final report and will very soon reach its end. In light of the imminent end of our investigation, the Select Committee can no longer pursue the specific information covered by the subpoena,” the letter said.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for dynamic hugely successful folks that achieved excellence in their career and then out of a sense of duty, decide to slay another dragon, an action fraught with perils at every tune but is motivated by a moral code that believes, “I can make a difference, so I will”.
Harmeet is the only one that I’ve heard that understands why the red wave fizzled and why we keep getting our asses kicked. And no, it’s not just voter fraud.
But with McConnell and McCarthy as the faces of the party, her hands will be tied. They may not have been the instigators, but they are the purveyors of the rot and corruption by the swamp. And they prefer being in the minority, sniping from the sidelines is much easier than actually governing.

Accomplished nothing? Am I not thinking correctly? Didn’t the committee make criminal referrals to the DOJ?
The DOJ can still pursue them. With the political climate in the nation, I’d be surprised if they didn’t. The communists desperately want him neutralized. Although with the degree of control they have over our elections, they can keep him out of office without any heavy lifting being involved.
Maybe I’m missing something here.
If they had any balls, a Republican committee would subpoena every Jan 6 prisoner and demand their presence in Congress. They would house them in an undisclosed location without guard. Extend the date repeatedly.
The purpose was/is to perpetuate bogus charges to damage Trump, and it works on the weak minded. It’s friggin’ Psy-Ops.
And when I hear past Trump supporters say “we need DeSantis, Trump is done” the Psy-Ops works.
