U.S. Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) stated that “the deep state is on notice” in a tweet Tuesday. Bishop’s statement came as the new Republican-led House of Representatives agreed to form a “Church Commission-style” committee to investigate the weaponization of U.S. federal law enforcement against American citizens. The North Carolina Republican was among a handful of members who held their votes from Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) until such a commission was formed, along with an assurance that the “motion to vacate the chair” would be reinstated, which will allow Republicans to recall McCarthy if he fails to keep his word. The rules package was approved by all but one Republican Congressman on Monday, while Republicans voted to form the committee on Tuesday.
Rep. Bishop, along with Reps. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Andrew Clyde (R-GA), Chip Roy (R-TX) and Scott Perry (R-PA), as well as recently elected U.S. Reps. Eli Crane (R-AZ) and Andy Ogles (R-TN), penned a letter that called for a “Church Commision-style” Congressional committee to investigate weaponization of federal law enforcement agencies in December, weeks before the U.S. House was set to select a new Speaker. The church commission was a 1975 Senate Select Committee that investigated abuses by the CIA, FBI, NSA and IRS. MORE

I think I understand what he’s saying here, but if you take it literally, I don’t see how it can be stopped unless individuals who make up the Deep State are singled out and stopped. And how can the country profit by a committee’s ability to obtain sensitive information (what is now hidden under the cover of the DoJ’s “ongoing investigation” play), if the knowledge of that information is still withheld from the public? I thought this was the problem with prior revelations about Adams Schiff’s selectively leaking ‘in camera’ information about “on going investigations” about Trump. Though it was clear he leaked that info to the media, nothing ever came of his crime. I hope Jordan et al are aware of how frustrating this is to the People. We not only want it to stop, we want the individuals behind it to be prosecuted by the same laws that would put us behind bars for the same kinds offenses. Such prosecution and punishment, in fact, be double based on their holding the position of safeguarding public trust.
…and Dems, like Nadler, are trying to sway public opinion by accusing Bishop and Repubs of using such a committee to count coup on the D’s and avenge their Deep State attempt at jailing Trump. Nadler is right in a way. The tentacles of the Trump impeachment, J6, and unclassified document raids on Mar a Lago involved the cooperation by numerous federal agencies that danced to the Dem’s tune. All are a part of the Deep State that Bishop and the Repubs wish to expose and stop.
I hear words, I want actions.
Until someone of significance is put in jail, this is all bluster, again.
I do hope they do more than yell at everyone then send them on their way.
How will they get indictments and prosecutions with the crooked DOJ?

The thugs of the FBI, CIA, NSA, and DOJ are of no use to the Oligarchy if they’re neutered. Neither Wray, Brennan, Clapper, nor Comey has yet to be indicted on perjury (much less Treason) charges – and the perjury before the FISA stooge has gone un-indicted, as well.
We’ll get a torrent of Bluster and Bullshit for a few weeks until the next phony “crisis” rears its head.

Rep. Dan Bishop’s (R) house was raided at dawn today by a swat team of FBI, NSA, ATF, and Capitol Police officers. Bishop and his wife, wearing only their underwear were handcuffed and marched to waiting unmarked vehicles in front of CNN and MSNBC cameras. Teams are still searching the Bishop home.
So much unchecked bullshit renders anything they say worthless.
