Just The News: David Crosby, a pioneering rock musician who achieved fame as a member of multiple major music acts, has died at the age of 81.
“It is with great sadness after a long illness, that our beloved David (Croz) Crosby has passed away,” Crosby’s wife, Jan, announced Thursday, according to Deadline. “He was lovingly surrounded by his wife and soulmate Jan and son Django. Although he is no longer here with us, his humanity and kind soul will continue to guide and inspire us. His legacy will continue to live on through his legendary music.”
“Peace, love, and harmony to all who knew David and those he touched. We will miss him dearly. At this time, we respectfully and kindly ask for privacy as we grieve and try to deal with our profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers,” she concluded. more

I still remember sneaking into the drive-in (locked in the trunk) with my buddies to see Woodstock, and I got my first taste of CSN.
I was really young but was mesmerized by the music.
And I’m always amazed that old rockers who took drugs their whole lives live as long as they do.
Getting worried about Robert Plant, Van Morrison, and Geddy Lee they are all getting up there. As @ No Mercy said, not fun to loose these components of my youth.
Good Music. We saw CSNY at a big venue and they were good. We happened to catch CSN at a small venue in Maui and they were freaken awesome.
Went through a huge CSNY period in high school. My fellow music-loving friends and I would all pack into a car (whoever had the best stereo install) and sing through the hits, harmonizing all the different parts. Later, one of the first songs I learned to finger pick on an acoustic was “Helplessly Hoping.”
A great catalogue of music that was the backdrop for many during their youth.
I’ll leave the politics out of it as pretty much all my “idols” turned out to be assholes. I get it.
He was never the same after pairing up with that evil comedy central/msNBC Stephen Colbert.
Colbert has been found to be at the root of a lot of this evil nastyness plagueging ( 🙂 ) hollywoodians and video records.

another TV show from my youth that used to have a lot of musicians was Mike Douglas & yes, crosby was on his show in 1976 (looked it up)

I can at least sing the opening bars of any song by the Beatles, CSNY, Byrds, Rolling Stones, Ray Charles, Aretha, Supremes, etc.
Not well, perhaps, but it’s seared into memory. This monolithic atonal and repetitious noise is complete garbage and unmemorable.

I’ve always enjoyed David Crosby’s music. Paul Simon is 81, another big name from that time.

I sincerely hope David didn’t go full libtard dumbass and availed himself of some amazing grace in his time of dying. A very gifted man that was a pain in everybody’s ass that he collaborated with, and an unbelievably demented loon on social media. Time will tell. RIP.

Just read a piece in the NY Post about him going to prison in 1986 and how he kicked drugs while in prison.
Several heart attacks, a liver transplant and hepatitis C, he was not in the best of health.
The piece had a portion of an interview he did later in life where he talked about the heartbreak of Joni Mitchell breaking up with him and still, to this day he loves her. Every guy reminisces from time to time about his first love (or second or third) and the girl that he did not end up marrying but still has a place in his heart. It was a cute story.
Gram Parsons stole Crosby’s girlfriend when he arrived in Southern California. I think it was the day he arrived.
There is no honor for a drugged out musician who gave up his seed to a Lesbian.
