QUEEN CREEK, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — A toddler was rushed to the hospital, and a woman is behind bars after the child got into her drugs in Queen Creek on Sunday, court documents say. It happened around 4:30 p.m. at a home where Miranda Taylor Reidhead lives with her boyfriend and his stepfather. Police said the boyfriend was asleep when Reidhead woke him and said the 18-month-old child was unconscious. He started screaming, and the stepfather ran into the room and started doing CPR while calling 911. MORE

$2500 bond???? To a meth dealer that’s nothing. What’s wrong with these judges. I want to know what happened to the baby.
…well, points for the stepfather giving CPR and at least a CHANCE.
It says the squad Narced her a couple times. Doesn’t work with meth, but they don’t have time to analyze the drug or what it may be cut with, like Fentanyl. Standard “Unknown Down” protocol anyway.
See, for you Narcan haters, you want to have some around for shit like THIS, too. Kids can get into even LEGAL drugs Grandma may have, and your window is not big for avoiding brain, heart, or other systematic damage when the kid quits breathing. Narcan (Naloxone) is an opiod antagonist ONLY, it does NOTHING if there’s no opioid so it doesn’t hurt to try.
Most cities have a harm reduction program where they will train you and issue Narcan, often for free. If you have a loved one who takes pain medicine, a kid who might get into it, or a family member struggling with addiction, it might be wise to have some just in case.
Cheaper than a funeral, and it can be the difference between life and death.
That right there at the top of the article is the face of progressivism. Dumber than a sack of hammers.
It doesn’t say, but I can make a fairly educated guess at the outcome for an unknown time down 18 month old that was unresponsive to resuscitation efforts on scene and enroute to the hospital.
I suspect we all can.
You don’t give up on a child, ever, until MD calls it, absent massive trauma.
Period.
Not even for SIDS babies who are obviously unreachable and signing with rigor and dependent lividity. This is NOT for the infant’s benefit as an infant with these signs is dead, but for the parents as folks need some assurance that everything possible was done for their infant and don’t instead just see a bunch of guys in uniforms shrugging off their baby’s death.
And responders aren’t made of stone either. Its a fucked up situation all around.
Don’t ask me how I know.
In a situation like this, with a
mayyybe salvageable child, from the field to the ER everyone is going to fight as hard and as long as they can for that baby’s life.
No one wants a baby to die. God has to say NO pretty empathetically to make the effort stop.
Pray for that baby that I’m wrong and she receives a miracle. Pray for that family that the Lord comforts them and for that woman that this experience makes her cry out to God for her own salvation as well as her baby’s.
And pray for everyone who tried to pull that young life back.
Because, compartmentalize as you may, some aspects of some runs stay imprinted on the back of your eyelids for awhile.
Her bond was set at $2,500, that’s all the child was worth. Sad.
The result of Joe Biden and democrat party’s lawless permissiveness.
