Indian Band Blocks Four Roads that Cross Their Land Keeping Non-Tribal Members from Their Homes

waow

A developing situation in the town of Lac Du Flambeau could leave some people without access to their homes in a dispute with residents and Lac Du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

The situation stems from the tribe taking ownership over four roads in a dispute over expired easement agreements that were put in place when the area was developed in the early 1960s. The more than 50-year agreements have not been valid since 2013-14, according to letters sent to homeowners. Access

  1. Seems like they did something like this before, at Wounded Knee SD in 1973.

    How’d that turn out?

  2. I hope the town or county or state clears a bypass that connects all four roads around the tribal lands. Make it an ice road through the wood for now, but leave these extortionist out in the cold blocking roads they no longer control. They waited until sub zero temps and months of snow before pulling this stunt. Good fences make good neighbors.

  3. Wild Bill,

Railraod blockcade also popular up here.
Turdeau just takes it in the ass though and ignores them as he changes his fucking fairy socks.

  4. I’m with the Indians on this one.
Block them roads on your land.
And all you that need to get from Point A to Point C through lands-not-your-own B…..talk nice, be polite, ask please. That may help.

  5. “Those who choose not to leave could be barricaded in their house for an unknown period of time.”

We call that kidnapping. I would like to know the party makeup of the town council that has been negotiating. Normally it is the fucking dems that will pull this to try to keep people under their thumb.

And if it is only 2600 feet and it is 4 roads, I’m fairly certain that I could at least leave my “blockaded” home, which I had essentially been kidnapped to. I have weapons.
