Hobby Lobby, “conservative” Evangelicals behind ad campaign using Jesus to promote illegals and LGBTQ agenda

Revolver: Many of you may not realize this, but Hobby Lobby and other so-called “conservative” Evangelicals are behind the new “He Gets Us” and “Jesus Was a Refugee” ads that are blowing up.

These ads use the Bible and Jesus to validate and even promote the chaos at the border and also to appeal to the LGBTQ/trans communities.

And these Evangelical groups say they’re just getting started.

Apparently, they plan to make this a full-fledged PR campaign.

NPR:

*The ads all stem from the central idea that “He Gets Us”. They discuss how “He” (Jesus Christ) was a refugee, had disdain for hypocrisy, and was also unfairly judged like other marginalized members of modern society.

* In one of the commercials, a black and white slideshow of photos tells the story of Central American migrants who must flee their home to avoid persecution. At the end, it is revealed the story being told is that of Jesus and his parents, Mary and Joseph.

* The ads are reportedly funded in part by the family that owns the notably religious craft store chain Hobby Lobby, according to Christianity Today, as well as other evangelical groups, including a foundation called The Signatry. Other donors have kept their identities anonymous.

At a time when our country is at its breaking point, our resources are spent, we’re deeply in debt, our border is flooded, our citizens are sick and dying from illegal drugs, and children are being indoctrinated by the perverted LGBTQ mafia, why on earth would so-called “conservatives” push this type of messaging?

Well, according to Bob Smeitana, a reporter for Religion News Service, it’s because they want to change supposed “negative public views” about Christianity.

In other words, they want to submit to the left’s godless agenda. MORE

  1. Joseph and Mary were Roman subjects, possibly citizens from the city of Nazareth. They were not “refugees”. Before Jesus’ birth it was required by Ceasar Augustus, officiated by King Herod, Roman residents were required to report to their province in this case, Bethlehem to participate in a census and register. Of course, enablers of the left got it all wrong.

Progressive reprobate campaigns like “He Gets Us” only cause confusion, a Satanic strategy.
Actual Christians who know God, also know His voice and study His Word to show themselves approved. They won’t be fooled by godless, cult doctrine. Satan is always trying to best Christ – an evil, foolish, damnable impossible goal.

Hobby Lobby, Christianity Today etc. are all blindly in league with the devil and his agenda. I wouldn’t be surprised if pagan, nihilist organizations have partnered with these psuedo Christian organizations to promote this ad campaign.

  2. “”He” (Jesus Christ) was a refugee…”

Nice try at rewriting history. Jesus was born into in a fairly wealthy family that traveled all over the Med. in his short lifetime. Some claim he even made it to the now British Isles.

  3. Joseph, Mary and Jesus also didn’t violate Egypt’s laws by going there temporarily at God’s command to escape King Herod’s order to kill all Jewish, male babies under 2 years old. Egypt was a Roman province at that time as was Judea, and Joseph and Mary didn’t go there to stay forever and live off the largess of the tax paying Egyptians. They only stayed until God commanded them (through an angel) to return to Israel after Herod had died and his threat had become null and void.

Joseph had heard that Archelaus, the son of Herod, had taken over as king so he was afraid to go to Judea under the rule of Herod’s son. Based on a warning from a dream, Joseph took the family to Nazareth (in Galilee which was outside the rule of Archaleus) which fulfilled the prophecy of Jesus being called a Nazarene.

Thus, there truly is no comparison to the people illegally invading our country today for selfish economic reasons and the history of Jesus Christ. There is nothing Christian about allowing hordes of foreigners violating established law to literally invade our country for the sole purpose of sponging off of (stealing from) the American taxpayers for a better economic life through plundering the hard work and sacrifices of past and present generations of Americans.

  4. Jesus’ constant message was for YOU to take action. For you to come closer to God, to help others, etc. Not for you to support the government in doing so. People are welcome to personally help others, to invite them into their homes, etc. But Jesus NEVER had any faith in government, never suggested government-funded programs. Charity always came from the individual, or perhaps an organization of like-minded individuals spending their own resources. These organizations are just acting like profit-minded businesses. Would they spend their own resources to help these people if there were no government funds?

  5. @LCD – if the founder of Hobby Lobby was really all about taking care of “the poor” as he seems to claim is his Christian duty, he would be using his billions of dollars to directly finance all the needs of the illegals he falsely claims are “just like Jesus” while being supposed refugees. Instead, he is buying commercial time to spew leftist nonsense disguised as a “Christian” message about love and acceptance of things that are in defiance of God’s Word. I’m saddened that this kind of garbage has become accepted as “Christian” thought and actions by self proclaimed Christians in today’s world as defined by leftist ideology. His money could be put to far better use by simply providing people with God’s Word.

  6. Basic do gooders who want to help people with other peoples money and work with no idea what evil they bring with them. Same as the government fraud with kick backs coming back in the dark shadows of their curtain that hides the truth.

  7. The Messiah Himself tells us to observe and do (Sh’mah) Moses (Torah), but, do NOT do the man made ‘rabbinic statutes’, because Judah (like Ephraim) puts their own way above The Way.

Matt 23:1 Then spake Yahushua to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:
3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

Why this ‘light’ (which requires oil) just before He specifies that the Torah continues until the end of the Millennium age, when Heaven and Earth are renewed. Don’t even think, consider, entertain the idea that the Torah is diminished in the slightest way, but is RAISED to the Highest Heavenly Standard! It is not just the physical ‘adultery’, but Spiritual Adultery which will not be tolerated in The Kingdom.

Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

Matt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Many people erroneously think that walking out the Torah had/has something to do with trying to EARN salvation? It does not and never has had anything to do with EARNING salvation. That which was set forth to occur, even before creation, at the very hour which it transpired (Passover / Pesach) cannot be earned and is for the WHOLE world, but most will not receive it. You must be part of Israel (not the nation state of today), covered by the Favour of promises and covenants to the fathers of Israel.

YHWH delivered Israel from Egypt for His Name’s sake, the promises made to the fathers (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) and THEN set forth the covenant for His people (‘wedding vows’). All were welcomed to be part of Israel as the ‘mixed multitude’ and various ingraftings occurred throughout the Tanakh. All by Emunah (אמונה / ‘faith’). There is Echad (One) ‘faith’ and that is the scriptural Hebrew Emunah and obedience is the covenant. To TRULY believe that YHWH is who He says He is and will do what He says He will do.

There is Judah (judaism) and Ephraim (christianity), the older and younger brother (respectively) of the parable of the prodigal son. They are to be brought back together (very soon) as Ezek 37 describes, to be Echad (One) stick in His hand.

Judah denies the Word in the flesh and Ephraim denies the Word written. Both will sit in sackcloth and ashes, as we all will, for all errors which we profess. And we ALL do have errors in our understanding, and the further from 30 AD we get, the worse it gets.

Nothing there about taking other peoples’ money and giving it to the poor.

  9. Lucerfarian doctrine designed to teach a false Christianity and lift up a false Christ.

God’s word has remained unchanged and will not be diluted regardless of how many false teachers try.

Btw why all the hubbub about Biden’s message – what else would expect from an illegitimate president but an illegitimate message. It’s just part of the growing attempt at deception and deviltry abundant in our current culture of narcissim.

  10. The massive invasion by illegals is a coordinated effort to change the demographics of voting and turn the USA into a third world nation which is easier to manipulate and control and eventually destroying freedom throughout the world.
Side note, Hobby Lobby is not a real hobby store.

  11. Another organization that’s apostate. Not gonna preach, the Bible tells me what’s coming: 2 Thessalonians 2:3 — King James Version (KJV 1900)

    3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

We are seeing it unravel before our very eyes. Every knee shall bow.

  12. @Goldenfoxx

What day has to come before the apostasy and the revealing of the man of sin, the son of perdition? It is the Day of the Lord in verse 2. Jesus said that he will rapture His church (all those who believe in Him) on the Day of the Lord (Luke 17:22-30), not before the 70th week of Daniel. Food for thought.

  13. Soooo….Hobby Lobby wants to go the Christ-and-Bible route, eh?
    Well, how about this?
Have someone dress in a toga-and-robe, carrying a cat-o’-nine-tails, walk through a Hobby Lobby, turning over the cash registers and shelves and flailing the customers and clerks?
Recreate the upsetting of the money changers at the Temple. Fitting enough?

  14. Just because a store like Hobby Lobby calls itself Christian doesn’t mean that it really operates on Christian principles. My daughter goes into Hobby Lobby occasionally to buy craft supplies and sometimes I go with her just to look around, but they sell way too much Chinese junk for my tastes.

Subject: “He Gets Us” and “Jesus Was a Refugee” ads
Message: Well, so much for Hobby Lobby, I can add you to the expanding number of outfits that my children request to visit who have made themselves anathema to what is in their best interests.

Boom, done, gone. Nothing more is necessary and this is the only thing that will resonate with them. To discuss it any further is not unnecessary and counterproductive. Any apology they have to offer is insincere and self serving.

  17. @1harpazo: Let’s read what Luke 17:22-30 says: 22 Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. 23 People will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them. 24 For the Son of Man in his day[a] will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. 25 But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

26 “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27 People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

28 “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

30 “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

In their longing for him to return they were not to be led astray by rumours and false prophecies. His coming would be visible and unmistakable (Luke 17:22-25). As in the days of Noah and of Lot, people will be carrying out their everyday duties when the divine judgment will suddenly fall (Luke 17:26-30).

No man knows the day or the hour, we only know what circumstances I don’t see the rapture in the verses you quoted surround his second coming. Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.

Get that? Even those that pierced him.
