That was me on my first Michigan UP vacation wondering why nobody was swimming in the water of Lake Superior.

As many times as I’ve been up there, I just had ONE time where the water was warm enough to wade. BURRRRRRRRR

Claudia, I fell asleep an a double air mattress while looking in the water for undiscovered agates. Drifted out a good mile or so to finally be awoken by biting blackflies. My legs were numb by the time I reached shore. Moral of the story is only fall asleep on single mattresses so you can use your arms too. (Also expect what’s coming from your girlfriend who was preparing to call the Coast Guard)
I was trout fishing as a kid and stepped on one of these while wading in a stream (hellbender). It lunged up to the surface and I truly thought the devil was coming to get me:

Like catching or actually shooting something on an outing makes it less of an adventure.
Some of my best memories are of shots I didn’t take.
When you take in God’s gift out there like that, you’re winning already.

Yeah, I was that brat in all the grades catching teacher when I could.
You should see how my Geometry teacher signed my yearbook.
I was bored too often. It became a game for me. My classmates appreciated it. Good times.
