Father Uses Cattle Prod to Discipline Children

A dad in Kentucky is being investigated for allegedly using a cattle prod on his own children. Anthony L. Jones, 32, is charged with four charges of criminal abuse in the third degree of a child 12 or under and one case of criminal abuse in the third degree. Deputies say he did it to “punish” them.

In the CVAC facility, forensic interviews were conducted with both youngsters, and their statements were validated. The perpetrator repeatedly threatened the victims with the cattle prod and shocked them.

Jones was taken into custody on a Friday morning about 10:15.

According to a Facebook post from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, “the arrest happened along Littontown Road, roughly 4 miles north of London after an investigation performed by Deputy Poynter.” “Assisting DCBS with an earlier investigation, Deputy Poynter secured two arrest warrants on the basis of complaints. The first arrest warrant included four charges of third-degree criminal mistreatment against a minor under the age of 12. Two youngsters were allegedly disciplined many times with an electric cattle prod by the accused. One count of third-degree criminal abuse was included in the arrest warrant issued in response to the second allegation.

Jones has been taken into custody and lodged in the Laurel County Jail. On Monday, during his arraignment, he pled not guilty, and a pretrial session has been set for May 2. There is no registered counsel for him.
