The only way the west can stop China’s assault and takeover of Taiwan is using nukes. Even then it will be a Pyrrhic Victory if such a thing can even be called a victory.
For decades, the US thought that proclaiming its responsibility to protect Taiwan, from its language if not by some treaty, would be enough to deter China. In the meantime, we helped China become a powerful enemy.
