  2. The girl looks like my high school sweetheart I was with for almost 3 years. Thanks, now I’ll be thinking about her all night.

Surprisingly, Tom didn’t die of cancer. He died from complications from a hernia operation. (Just wikied it)

  3. My dad, God rest his soul, brother and I watched his act on television in a motel room in Westport WA the evening before going out on a salmon fishing charter boat. He was on a late night talk show and I swear to god my brother and the host were in perfect sync saying: Oh good lord. I’d seen him previously, my brother and dad hadn’t.

I remember talking to an entertainer who said that he was a true friend and absolutely loved by others in the entertainment industry. I think he told me he owned a comedy club down south somewhere.

See? The strokes he had during the hernia operation were probably caused by second hand smoke. Apparently every medical condition of any kind can be caused by it according to the anti-smoking Nazis.

  5. The coolest smoke on the Silver Screen was Sean Connery in his first introduction as “Bond, … James Bond”

Another favorite was Clint Eastwood in every Western he played.

James Cann in “Thief” who lights one up after breaking into an impenetrable safe.

Bogey & Bacall in “To Have & Have Not” & “Key Largo”

Of course a lot of bad guys are dispatched in movies when the protagonist is given one last cigarette.

Bon Jovi wrote a song about it…

  6. One of the greats, I have two of his VHS tapes on magic from the 80s. International Brotherhood of Magic had great conventions. Once bitten it’s hard to stop doing magic. Pick up a thread reel. Learn how to walk a card and never tell how it’s done. Mouthing a cigarette was hard if it had a filter on it and you won’t get burnt even if looks like you would. Hindu shuffle and back palming cards and a dealers rose. Here is another great…https://youtu.be/EKhWF39UhKI

  7. A guy in my company in Navy bootcamp in the fall of 1972 was caught smoking one time while we were out on the grinder (parade ground) marching and my company commander punished him by putting a metal garbage can over his head and making him smoke a full pack of cigarettes while beating on the garbage can with a stick, he got physically sick and never did that again, neither did anyone else and he probably became an ex-smoker at that point. My company commander was also a sadistic bastard who later on was busted for abusing the recruits under his command. Fortunately, I was in the base hospital with cellulitis in my left heel at the time and missed that, thank God. There was no excuse for this jerk being in charge of a bunch of raw recruits. I never smoked, my dad and 2 of my brothers did and I am glad that I didn’t, my wife also was a smoker for the first 17 years we were married until God told her to quit smoking and she did cold turkey in Feb. 1994 and never smoked again.

  8. He can’t be palming them, I’m watching the cigarettes go in and out of his mouth. I suppose with indoor smoking bans this is style of magic is a lost art.
