A top leader in the organization that puts on CPAC, the highly influential conference of conservative leaders, resigned on Tuesday night, citing financial mysteries surrounding the organization’s leader.

As a matter of principle, if someone is targeted by a bogus lawsuit because of his association with an organization somebody dislikes, then it is entirely appropriate for that organization cover the defendant’s legal expenses.
