Inflation rose in July after steadily declining from a high of 9.1% in June 2022, according to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) release on Thursday.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a broad measure of the prices of everyday goods like energy and food, increased 3.2% on an annual basis in July, compared to 3.0% in June, according to the BLS. Core CPI, which excludes the volatile categories of energy and food, remained high, rising 4.7% year-over-year in July, compared to 4.8% in June. More

    Just go grocery shopping.

    Shit, 12 y/o Glenlivet’s gone from $42 to $52 (23.8%).
    Pork loin went from $1.89/lb to $2.89/lb (52.9%).
    Strip steaks are up to $13/lb (don’t know what they used to be but we could buy rib-eye steaks for $9/lb which are now $17/lb (88.8%)).

    $1.06 -> $1.16
    $1.16 -> $1.21

    21% cumulative in 3 years. And that’s using their rigged numbers, so you know it’s higher than that.
