29 Comments on Nearly a Century-Old Film Gives Me Agida
Planes don’t need wheels to fly.

She has bigger balls than I do, but much less common sense.

Agida?
I loved that musical.
7
^^^ I saw the play the night the Brit shelled the Falklands. LOL

I had to look up the meaning of agida, hell yes that would make me very anxious to have to do that. I hope that she had a parachute, that took a lot a lot of guts to replace that tire midflight on an old biplane like that. Barnstorming was not for the faint of heart.
7
Maybe men can get pregnant.
That gal most certainly has gigantic balls.
9
AH C’MON…ONE WHEEL LANDING!!!
6
I saw Agida open for The Stones in Wichita, 78’…
8
Obviously capable and most likely she was the lightest.
4
I taught her how to install wheels in flight.
15
At least she didn’t drop the nut. I would have dropped both of mine.
11
Bigger balls than Mike Obama.
12
The doctor just told me that I have acute angina and I’ve never been in a biplane….
4
I had agida.
Dr gave me something for it and it went away eventually.

Nice jodhpurs!
6
Is she single? Asking for a friend.
That plane is a Curtiss Jenny, stall speed about 50 mph; let’s see her try that stunt on a 737.
6
Her name? Lotta Pluck, and make sure you pronounce her name correctly.
6
Clearly a staged stunt. Multiple planes and cameras? These things weren’t quite a dime a dozen in v the 1900s.
6
@loco;
I saw a lot of things in the 70s’………….
2
Go watch Waldo Pepper.
You’ll smile when Susan Sarandon tries the same stunt…..but falls.
7
Wow!
That was even more believable than the dancers in Flying Down to Rio!
2
I could do that, I just don’t want to.
5
You don’t need wheels to land a Curtis Jenny…just stall it a little above ground and it will sit right down!
2
I like the magical disappearing cameraman in the plane without a wheel who filmed the woman as she climbed onto the wing.
That is not to say she wasn’t brave — or crazy.
3
Can her great grandchildren sue for reparations for OSHA violations?
3
A woman that can change a tire! I don’t believe it.
3
I’d love to see the bloopers reel!
2
She’s not even wearing a parachute!!! If she drops the wheel, both pilot and that lady face a greater peril upon landing.
Would be great to know that we still have more Americans like this running around today. But, will take whatever we got, as they are always needed and forever loved.
