Trending Politics: A new poll from Reuters/Ipsos found that a plurality of Americans support an impeachment inquiry into President Biden due to allegations of influence peddling and involvement in corrupt business dealings with his son, Hunter.
Some 41 percent of Americans said they supported the idea of opening an impeachment investigation into the president while just 35 percent said they were opposed. A significant number of respondents remain undecided, with 24 percent saying they were not sure.
The online poll surveyed 4,413 Americans from September 8 through September 14, ending just before Republicans announced that they would be going ahead with the investigation.
Republicans have released bank records, travel logs and obtained more than 14 hours of sworn testimony from key figures, including Hunter Biden’s former business partner Devon Archer. Hunter Biden’s tenure on the board of Burisma — a Ukrainian energy firm — has long been discussed as part of the corruption allegations involving the president. more
