The California Highway Patrol was called to a scene in Palo Alto on Thursday due to an accident involving the futuristic truck and a Toyota Corolla.
The Japanese-made vehicle was demolished in the woods while the Cybertruck sat on the road with minor dents.

Meh. Modern cars are designed with crumple zones that are designed to absorb the impact energy, destroying the body of the car in the process. And a lot depends on what hits what at which angle, as well as what secondary impacts may take place as the car leaves the road/spins out of control.
The Tesla may well be sturdy, but that force needs to go SOMEWHERE. If the car isn’t absorbing it, then it gets transferred to the occupants. I grew up with cars that had metal interiors that were super sturdy, mostly you could hose the blood out and sell it to the next guy. But that sturdiness made it more likely there would BE blood to hose out. (of course, bench seats, optional seat belts, and non-collapsable steering columns ALSO caused some issues, but that’s a different subject for another day)…
Obviously when one vehicle is bigger than the other…..
Bet the battery has to be replaced due to the impact even without visual damage. Its likely totaled due to repair costs.
