Somebody Finally Beat Tetris

Technically, the 13-year-old, who goes by the alias “BlueScuti,” made the game glitch out and stop functioning, what they call a “kill screen.” It took him 40 minutes to reach level 157 when the game finally error coded and stopped working. It is a milestone in human achievement, apparently.

  1. Wow! What a horrific waste of time.

I played video games on the Commodore 64 on rainy days when I was a child. And we learned how to code when we messed around with the programming.

But, as Stephen King, a dickbrain himself, stated, “Video games are strictly for dickbrains…”

  2. I did that with “Rainbow Man” – it was a take off on Pac Man but on a very early personal computer. It started at level “A” and went through “Z”. A few levels after that it would crap out. Of course, this was way back in the mid-80s. And it was a big “waste” of time.

  3. This must be a new version of Tetris.
The version that I played in the early 80s, when it first jumped The Wall and came to the US, it may have had scores, but I don’t remember. Nor do I remember the game/computer system.
What I DO remember was that it had “levels”, from 1-1 to 10-10. Each level was faster and more difficult. As you passed each level, a picture of something Russian would be on the screen….until you succeeded at Level 10-10, then the Kremlin would take off. EVERYBODY was trying to launch the Kremlin.
I did that…..once. I must have “sproinged” something, I was never able to do it again. But once was enough. Sweet success.
