My kids played ALL the sports. Baseball was the absolute worst as far as parental pain in the ass involvement. It was crazy. You could smash their car windshield with a hammer and they’d be fine with it. But God help the ref that might have made a bad call on lil Johnny. Weird.

I was coached that you slide if he’s covering the plate and you send him flying if he’s blocking the basepath as an 8 year old in first year participating in organized baseball. But that was in 1967 when parents didn’t seek revenge.

That is when you slide with the cleats up targeting the knee caps.
I played baseball into my college years and I knew I would never be more than a double A pitcher as my arm was done after 22-25 pitches. I did throw a 96 mph fastball in 2 or 3 of those pitches. I had an opponents catcher do what that dick did. The next time he was at bat he got a 90+ mph ball to his knee. He was their only catcher and performed poorly the rest of the game.
