  1. He appeared in the 1st Broadway show I ever saw, Golden Boy with Sammy Davis Jr . Those tunes are still in my head. Loved him in Enemy Mine . May he Rest in Peace, Amen .

  2. I remember watching a rerun of the Partridge Family and he and Richard Pryor were on it.
Found it humorous as I’m sure I saw that as a kid and had no idea who either one of them were.

  3. Always liked him. Didn’t know his politics, which is a good thing. He did a couple of guest appearances on the Rockford Files. I think he was friends with Garner.

  4. Always liked to see Lou Gosset Jr. onscreen. Of course my fav’ was him as a drill Sargent in, An Officer and a Gentleman – stand-out actor. He was a standup guy off screen as well. Carry on Mr. Gosset. RIP.

  5. As a Young Kid I liked him in Iron Eagle even though the movie plot sucked.
    Hey, I was only 16.

Seriously though, where else could you see F-16’s on a big screen except for Top Gun & the F-14’s?

Remember Kids, the “INTERNET” in the 1980’s was the NETTING in your Nike/Adidas/Rebok running shorts that helped hold your marble pouch in.

    Have a Good Flight CHAPPY…

  6. MSNBC keeps saying the same thing about every celebrity that has passed away: “Beloved [so and so] passed away today”.

Maybe Lou Gosset was beloved, at least by his family, but not by everybody. I don’t even know what movies he was in, but I have heard of him.

  7. Watched him tonight on a DVD I had, “The Deep”. 1977. Never heard anything bad, never looked for anything bad. Better actor than many we have today. May he rest in peace.

  8. JM: I watched a video on YouTube this week about short-lived TV shows of 1970-71 and it had The Young Rebels. I don’t know that I had ever heard of he show before, but I was surprised to see that Gossett was one of the stars.
