I loved all the songs from my era(born in 1957). My daughter and her hubby, and my son, always say we had the best music to grow up to. I 100% agree!

I love this version of this song because the power, raspyounous, of his voice sounds like a warrior that’s been through the battle and now has time to reflect. I know. I’m fucked up. LOL.
This song always makes me think of The Graduate, the movie and the soundtrack are so intertwined.

My favorite version.

That wasn’t bad. Remakes, or covers, are something I give heavy consideration to. If you are just playing some song off the radio for your practice or enjoyment that’s one thing. But to record it you better do something good. Your take on it better make sense. As Joe Cocker did many times.
You shouldn’t just copy it, or shit all over it.
I heard some lesbian version of Maggie May, and those people should never have been produced.
Look at me, I’m a fag! Yeah, well, fuck off.

“I heard some lesbian version of Maggie May”
True story. I worked at a shop back when I was young, dumb, and full of, well you know. There were two Lesbians working there. Cute young things actually. Well one thing led to another and I converted them. I could lay some pipe back then. Well truth be told I still can. But only on Saturday morning between 8:00 and 9:00 am. Anyway, they would visit often. And then I found a new job. Out of town. I stopped by the shop about 6 months after that and they were back to finger licking good. Both these women would have been excellent wives and mothers. I still don’t get it. And the reason being is because deep down that’s what they wanted. I know, TMI.
So I love voice actors. Peter Cullen is one of my absolute favorites. Also see Courtney B. Vance, James Earl Jones, Michael McEllhatton, I could go on. Cullen can lend gravitas to the ingredients listed on the side of a cereal box. Optimus Prime may be a children’s cartoon character but please just trust me on this one…..
Bravo, Bravissimo!! Thank you Claudia!
Awesome!
Putting a new perspective on the past!
Been on my gym playlist for about two years. It’s actually very motivating. Well for me at least.
Dan Vasc who is a heavy metal vocalist does a great job on the song. He sings Amazing Grace like no other, and he’s a Christian.
ps Disturbed sings it better than the original. very powerful.
He does a good job on that. I like his “Blue” video of that song also.
REMINDS ME OF THIS CLASSIC:

This is a good one as well.

I actually think Dan Vasc does it as well, if not better.

I like both versions of the song. Different one for different moods.
I’m a night owl. I always sing that song like this: “Hello darkness my old friend, I’ve come to fuck with you again”
