The frozen body of an American climber who went missing in Peru in 2002 was recently found, police said Monday.
William Stampfl went missing during a climbing trip to South America in June 2002 at the age of 59, according to CBS. He was scaling a peak along the 22,000-foot-tall Huascaran mountain when an avalanche buried him and his climbing party. Despite search and rescue efforts, Stampfl’s body was never recovered. more

It’s 101 degrees in Spokane and Eastern Wash. right now at 5 PM but it’s dry heat. My daughter in Nashville is suffering with 95 degrees and 100 % humidity, I’ll take the dry heat any day over Nashville.
I’ve had panfish that came around after freezing on the ice while ice-fishing. Cleaning them in the basement and thawing for cleaning in a five gallon bucket of water when all of a sudden some start splashing and swimming around in the bucket.
They might have tried that with him, but they would have needed a bigger bucket.

…I’d always been taught the axiom “You’re not dead until you’re WARM and dead”, althogh I’m not sure that was meant to apply to decades.
Still, dd they try? It would be an interesting experiment and its not like he’d be any deader at the end of it if it didn’t work out, so what the heck, good practice if nothing else, and ya never know…
