Woman Calls 911 After Yard Invaded by Almost 100 Racoons

USA Today

Video shows nearly 100 hungry raccoons − some allegedly aggressive – swarm a Washington state woman’s home last week in broad daylight looking for their next meal.

The animals were captured on film after the resident from Kitsap County, across Puget Sound from Seattle, called 911 when the mammals surrounded her rural home preventing her from leaving the property, officials said.

In footage shared by the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy is heard speaking to the unidentified woman who says the large numbers of raccoons began gathering in her wooded backyard about six weeks ago.

The woman, who lives a few miles north of Suquamish, told deputies she has been feeding raccoons on her property for more than 38 years, sheriff’s office spokesman Kevin McCarty told the Kitsap Sun, part of the USA TODAY Network. More

  1. At my grandfather’s camp there wasn’t any trash pickup, so we had to carry everything out. But we would take kitchen scraps and put them in the far corner of the back yard next to the fence row. We would get raccoons, skunks, possums, and foxes at night. Barn cats during the day, and even a coyote one year. A couple of the barn cats decided to hang around and ended up being adopted.

  2. Her first problem was feeding the raccoons. In Wash. state there is no limit on killing them as they are not a protected species and can be killed anytime as there is an open season on them because they are considered to be pests. Instead of a crazy cat lady this woman is a crazy raccoon lady.

  3. SayWA. We’re just not all there. Feeding vermin is a virtue signal in Wash-your-hands-ington. We got fully Californicated in the 70s through the 90s and now we’re not competent any more (Sideshow Bob Furgeson is our next governor!). After all, feeding vermin of the four legged kind is the least of the vermin we feed. There’s the two legged kind as well and we feed those rascals even more than the four legged.

  4. I am still hoping that Dave Reichert can beat and upset Bob Ferguson for Wash. state governor. I am sick of all the democrap governors we’ve had over the past 20-30 years. Our last decent democrat governor was Dixie Lee Ray and that in the late 70’s.

  5. MY brother in the Spokane valley traps raccoons that raid his large garden and then takes them trap and all and puts them into a 55-gallon drum full of water and puts the lid on and drowns the damn critters. And then the carcasses are thrown into large black plastic garbage bags and disposed of. He’s lost too many of his chickens and ducks to the damn varmints and has declared open war on them.

  6. I’ve seen what they did to a person’s attic once. Whole family of them took up residence in a lady’s homes attic and made a mess.
She found out when they shorted some wiring and started a fire.
They got in through a spot in the eave that rotted away behind some overgrown decorative shrubs. Was hard to believe that they fit through that small of an opening.

  7. I have a crazy, older neighbor(also is a libtard)who was feeding raccoons until I managed to convince her not to do that and why. The raccoon population has gone back to normal since then. At least she listened to me, unlike many libtards.

I think I see the problem.

Currently working the worst rat infestation I’ve dealt with in 20 years because an elderly lady likes to feed the birds – but also doesn’t want to kill the rats.

There are about 5 duplexes around her that are pretty tight-knit and watch out for / help each all the time. They finally drew the line with the sweet nature-loving 81 Y.O., that Kayaks at the local lake all the time, since everyone was having rats all over, and in, their properties.

Yeah, yeah, you’re awesome, but enough is enough. Started the job on Sept 10. Have removed a few dozen in traps INSIDE homes and enough bait has been eaten to kill 80+ rats. and I can see more needs to be done.

STOP FEEDING WILD ANIMALS!! They do just fine without your interference throwing off the balance of nature! Even the birds don’t need you. It’s actually a very selfish thing to attract nature just for your pleasure. Maybe hummingbird feeders aren’t so bad, but I have no hard data on them either way.

The raccoons, opossums, skunks, squirrels, and all the birds don’t need your help. You’re just causing problems. My bank account thanks you, though.

That said, I’ll give you a discount if I could take care of this problem for you, as long as I can bring a different friend along every weekend to hunt.. I mean… do pest control with me.
