The convenience store 7-Eleven will close over 400 stores nationwide, the company has announced.
According to CNN, Seven & I Holdings, the chain’s Japan-based parent company, announced the closures in their earnings report on Thursday.
Under the proposed measures, 444 locations of 7-Eleven will be shut down due to a fall in sales, high inflation, and a decrease in cigarette purchases.
“The North American economy remained robust overall thanks to the consumption of high-income earners, despite a persistently inflationary, elevated interest rate and deteriorating employment environment,” Seven & I said in its earnings release.
“There was a more prudent approach to consumption, particularly among middle- and low-income earners.” more here

I haven’t been to a 7-11 in a long time. Drinking Big Gulps used to make me pee all the time, so I gave them up. The nearest 7-11 to me is welfare central and there is no way that I will go there for any reason. And beside 7-11’s have always been a rip off joint, overcharging poor people for everything and EBT magnets attracting riff raff who are too stupid to shop elsewhere.
There’s a 7-11 about a mile from me. I rarely go there because I have to ask the clerk to unlock the beer cooler because of rampant theft.
I only went to 7 eleven when I wanted to pay more for an item than I would somewhere else.
Maybe Abu or Singh will vote for Trump now.

They forgot to list the second major reason: rampant shoplifting by Obama sons and Biden voters.
Circle K’s are even worse than 7-11’s. I call them stop and robs because always seem to attract robbers looking to make a quick buck.
I was surprised that 7-11 was a “must see’ in Honalulu (per our local tour guide), then a store front in Japan at Narita international terminal, then again all over Thailand.

There is a new soon to be opened Circle K in NE Spokane kitty corner right across the street from low-income section 8 housing on a very busy arterial which is a short drive from I-90 and a major E/W street as well. We ‘re wondering how soon the inaugural robbery will take place shortly after it opens. Idiots. And the nearby Safeway doesn’t fare very well either with more grab and go liquor robberies than any other grocery store in town. All with easy access to get in and out quick and onto I 90 lickety split.
The pavement chimps just cleaned out a couple 7-11s in SoCal. It’s all over Instagram. I read 6 months ago all the east bay 7-ll closed up due to being robbed blind. Come on. Enough bull shit, that’s why they’re closing. The pavement chimps won’t be happy until they have no place to shop. And now their elderly parents are paying the price. Rite Aid and a plethora of others are gone too. Apparently they couldn’t afford the reparations.
We used to have Kim & Go, better know as Nut and Bolt. They were replaced by Maverick.
At least they will still have their 14,000 stores in Thailand.
