Pentagon Continues Its Streak

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has failed its seventh consecutive financial audit.

Despite commanding an $824 billion 2024 budget — funded entirely by hardworking American taxpayers — the Pentagon remains unable to account for vast sums of money.

The Pentagon began its first-ever agency-wide financial audit in 2017.  This marked the beginning of a process that had been sought, promised, and delayed for years.

Since undertaking this initial audit, the Pentagon has consistently failed to pass its subsequent audits, the first of which failed in 2018. More

  1. It is often discussed here how inefficient, corrupt, and politically partisan the DOJ, the FBI, and most of our intelligence/Judicial Departments are and how they all need to be scrubbed, reorganized, or downsized. Still, I would put up the Defense Department and the Pentagon specifically as the biggest bunch of thieves going.

In a perfect world, heads would roll and the House (stewards of our tax dollars, although they suck at appropriating them) would cut off all funding until a proper accounting can be presented. It’s too bad our government works just the opposite.

  2. I’ve typed here before what I do to eat. I have a lot of friendly competition saying the same as I typed above. Solicitations have been down over 50% in the last three years. And when they need something they need it now, not the usual 270 days. It’s not uncommon for the Gov to order something you quoted a year ago and slap an expedite on it. I’ve been doing this shit for over twenty years. This is far from normal. And do you know who we have to blame for this? Donald J. Trump. He subverted funds to build the wall straight out of the defense budget. He was smart enough to figure out how. Now evil forces are following his model. I’m not lying.

…not seeing the MRE sales we used to see with wars either. Not sure what the Ukes eat in the field courtesy of Pedo Joe, but apparently not the same thing OUR guys get…

You know the market. Remember back when the communists running this country decided it was bad for American tax payers to find out where we’re were sending military parts? So they removed “FMS” from the solicitations and contracts. FMS was short for foreign military sales. BUT, in the shipping section they still include “ship to, mark for”. The ship to is where we ship the parts domestically. The mark for is the final destination specified by the country code. You can’t make this shit up. How many solicitations have I seen headed to that massive war zone in the Uke? Zero. IDK, maybe Zelensky’s buying Russian weapons. Because he sure as hell isn’t buying ours. Our dog is being wagged. This is the greatest transfer of wealth ever. Ours.

  5. If next years budget is only the amount that showed up in the audit, it would be easy to tell where the “lost” money went. They would not be able to skim off their “share” of the budget without something normally paid for and audited being shorted. Next year, the same thing if the audit is still not kosher and so on going forward.
