Back in 1981, Heyer’s doctor lobbied to get gender dysphoria into the psychiatric reference guide, the DSM — not because it would help the patients, but because it would make it easier to sell wrong-sex hormones and genital surgeries.
In subsequent decades, a full-blown industry emerged — raking in billions every year, blighting lives, and sterilizing children. The doctors involved made millions, and many of the patients walked away with loads of questions and mountains of regret.
