Donald Trump Honors Jimmy Carter: ‘We All Owe Him a Debt of Gratitude’

President-elect Donald Trump honored former President Jimmy Carter upon hearing of his death at age 100, graciously remembering him as a man who did his best “to improve the lives of all Americans.”

SNIP: “We all owe him a debt of gratitude”? WE !? Who is we?

  1. Nothing wrong with being gracious at such a time… except in the case of Biden’s impending demise from too many birthdays. Then the old prick should be dumped into the bin of a manure spreader and pulled by swayback jackass down to the Potomac!

Inquiring minds want to know: How many times with the old bastard look at his watch during the service for Carter?

  2. considering all the rotten things at Carter said about Trump over the years, a more honorable and appropriate response would have been something simple like, ” My condolences to the Carter family for their loss. ”

Putting lipstick on that pig of an administration is not only out of character but a necessary.

  3. Would Iran still be a western country were it not for Carter? I don’t know, but he helped destabilize it. And he claimed for years that Israel was perpetrating genocide on ‘Palestinians’.

  4. l was born in the Canal Zone. The idiot gave away my birthplace despite the U S. paying for the land. The Panamanians couldn’t have dug the canal, but we gave them an economic asset that endanger by letting Chine “work on.” It is like the Middle East where the savages could reach the oil without Western tech, then they gouge us after making the oil obtainable.

  5. Well he did bring peace to Egypt and Israel removing the largest Arab army from the invasion equation. Other than that his presidency was a failure with the transfer of the Panama Canal, the Iran hostage crisis, stagflation, creation of the Dept of education etc. But he also helped build houses and bring clean water to parts of Africa.

    Exactly!

And then we are gonna all sit here and act like the Chinese didn’t have their hands on the canal for a long time already. They’re doing a lot of farming in Panama, too. Those people rarely intermarry with Panamanians and the ones born there are brought up 100% Chinese. They only speak Spanish for business. (I lived there for about 3 years)

  7. My first election; I voted for President Ford and worked the phones for the county Republican party on election day. I bear President Carter no animus, but recognize that he was in over his head; classic “Peter Principle.”

  8. I had a lot of time to think ob out I feel about the despicable cocksucker as I creeped my way between Washington and Montana at 55 mph. Turn the heat off at the contemptible motherfucker’s funeral and tell the attendees to put a goddamn sweater on.

  9. I remember my Grandparents one Christmas bought me a button up sweater instead of my usual flannel shirt because of him. I was 16 or 17 at the time and other than Christmas day (we always had to try on for grandma) I don’t think I ever wore it.
Also my drive to California from Michigan in 79 was a day longer than it should have been.

  10. The 55-mph speed sucked, it took an extra 2 hrs. to go to Seattle from Spokane back then. And no wanted to drive thru the middle of nowhere from Sprague to Moses Lake and Vantage and up the hill to Ellensburg at 55-mph and nothing but sagebrush passing slowly by seemingly forever. And the worst part was the WSP actually enforcing that damn slow speed limit.

…like they enforced all the illegal Covid bullshit.

…stuff like that really makes me wonder whose side they will end up on when Spicy Time is here…

    “Trump is being gracious.”

    …perhaps he’s living up to this…

“43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

    44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
    Matthew 5:43-45

  13. President Trump is being magnanimous and diplomatic. Also, as SNS suggested, possibly being obedient to God.
In President Trump’s statement about Carter he acknowledges he and Carter are polar opposites politically. President Trump gives props to Carter simply because only another president can know the weighty responsibility of the office.

BTW, there are many liberals and moderate Democrats who love Carter,
they voted for President Trump. No need to insult them. They wouldn’t accept the truth that Carter was a terrible President. In reality, a self-righteous narcissist (God’s take on that – Isaiah 64:5-7).

The media of course, are trying to separate Carter’s altruistic deeds from his disastrous presidency.
There is not much President Trump can do about the romanticized view of Carter too many Americans have about him. It’s no hair off President Trump’s chest to graciously eulogizing Carter.

  14. He always seemed like an empty suit to me. I was pretty young back then but I found out he carried an empty suitcase up the stairs of Air Force One. Yeah, just a good old boy.
Optics has been going on for a long time. Fake pol that never met a terrorist he didn’t like.
