REPORT: Battle Over Thermostat Turns Deadly Between Miami-Dade Landlord, Tenant

Daily Caller

A thermostat disagreement between a landlord and his tenant escalated into a fatal shooting on Sunday morning, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO).

Adam Louis Anson, 37, allegedly shot his tenant, Carlos Alberto Gonzalez, 57, during a confrontation early Sunday morning, according to CBS News. The argument stemmed from Anson’s desire to adjust a hallway thermostat inside Gonzalez’s efficiency apartment, arrest documents said. Police said Anson, carrying a semi-automatic pistol, approached the efficiency apartment attached to his residence around 8 a.m. He knocked on the window, seeking access to adjust a thermostat located in the hallway, according to the documents. read more

  1. Yow. More questions than answers.

Hallway thermostat? Efficiency apartments don’t have hallways.

Second degree? The landlord, carrying a firearm, punched the tenant out, dragged him out into the backyard, and THEN shot him in the head multiple times. Given the time to drag the poor guy, thus time think about what he was going to do once he got outside, how was this not premeditated?

There has to be a history, or the landlord is a paranoid schizophrenic and needs to be locked up forever.

  3. We used to have some epic thermostat battles when my grandmother lived with us for a few years. She had bad circulation, liked the heat about 80. I had my bedroom window cracked all winter long. Nobody got shot.
