(NewsNation) — With egg prices up 53% from a year ago, some Christians may be considering skipping using eggs in their Easter celebrations this year. But eggs have been a part of this religious season since practically the beginning of the Christian faith.

In pagan cultures, eggs were symbols of fertility, rebirth and the start of spring. Early Christians adopted the use of eggs in their celebration of Easter, the hard exterior shell representing the sealed tomb where Jesus was buried after his death on the cross. The cracked eggshells represent the empty tomb Jesus left after his resurrection from the dead Easter Sunday morning.

Early Christians dyed eggs red to represent the blood shed by Jesus when he died on the cross. Other colors were used to represent other meanings tied to the Easter story — yellow representing the resurrection and blue representing love. more here

  1. Easter is an abomination in the Eyes of The Most High, and a stench in the nostrils of Messiah Yahshua. T’shoovah and Emunah (Repentance and Faith) receive forgiveness, Sh’mah (Hearing and Obedience) gets rewarded with life everlasting. Most of xianity sits at the door, not realizing they are the 5 foolish virgins.

    The ‘falling away’ is ‘christianity’. The goyeem/gentiles began to divide themselves from the apostles and followers of The Way, of which Shaul (‘Paul’) was a ringleader (Acts 24:5 et al), creating this false religion by ‘cunningly devised fables’ (II Timothy 4:4, II Peter 1:16). Scripture is about the Hebrew people, nation and faith which YHWH has defined, assembled and molded into His bride. There. Is. No. Other. If you are truly in covenant with Him, then you are Israel.

    That which has been usurped and called ‘church’ is a man made construct, full of non biblical doctrines. It was the result of the heavy influx of heathen/gentiles (same word) into The Way, which itself was considered a sect of rabbinic judaism. After the First Century they began to divide themselves from the followers of The Way, of which Shaul (‘Paul’) was a ringleader (Acts 24:5 et al). This message likely will fall on deaf ears, blind eyes and dull minds (Isaiah 6:9-10, Matt 13:15, Acts 28:25-27, Heb 5:11), yet it must be put forth and may YHWH use it to bring forth fruit.

    The Messiah King of Israel Himself tells us to Hear and Obey (Sh’mah) Moses (Torah), but, do NOT do the man made ‘rabbinic statutes’, because Judah (like Ephraim) puts their own way above The Way. This is NOT for Salvation, which was appointed before creation, but is our covenant ‘I do’. Exodus 19:3-13 (chocked full of shadows and prophecy), et al, which are shadows of the prophet likened unto Moses, who is to come from among their brethren.

    Matt 23:1 Then spake Yahushua to the multitude, and to his disciples,
    2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:
    3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
    4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

    Luke 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

    Acts 28:22 But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
    23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of יהוה, persuading them concerning Yahushua, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

    There is no understanding of the Apostolic letters without knowing, understanding The Holy Scriptures. The Hebrew Scriptures (TaNaKh – Torah, Nevim and Ketuvim) were the ONLY SCRIPTURES referenced, until the 3rd Century A.D. At no time do any of the Apostles quote or reference each other, only indirectly, as the apostolic letters are comprised of (just) over 50% from the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible). In summary, ‘gentile believer’ is an oxymoron. There is no such thing. You are either grafted into the Whole House of Israel or you are a heathen/gentile.

    John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
    47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

    These seducers who deceive and bring in ‘damnable heresies’ (II Peter 2), ie christianity, rabbinic judaism and islam, which covers about half the population of the planet, these are the MANY and definitely NOT the ‘few who find the narrow path’ (Matt 7:14).

    II Tim 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
    14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
    15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Yahushua the Messiah.
    16 All scripture is given by inspiration of יהוה, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
    17 That the man of יהוה may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

    Be not deluded into trusting religious mantras, the plain and simple meaning of the Word cannot and will not contradict the deeper meanings, and vice versa.

    When our anointed King Yahshua COMMANDS us to hear and obey Moses, He means it literally.
    When He stated that the Torah cannot be diminished in the slightest, He means it literally.
    He tells us it will stand (in physical creation) until the Heavens and the Earth are renewed. He means it literally.
    When He tells us that He cannot do ANYTHING which our Eternal and Unchanging Father in Heaven has not given Him to Do or Say (Deut 13), He means it literally.

    There is no bumper sticker, swiss cheese or participation trophy theology which can contradict the simple and straight forward message which we have heard since the beginning, in paraphrased summary, Trust that I am all that I have said that I am, that I Will do all that I have said I Will do and Obey Me to receive ALL of the blessings I have promised. IOW, love, honor, cherish and obey – YOUR ‘I do’ to the marriage covenant, whether the first or Renewed covenant, the stipulations do not change, just as the Creator Who offers the covenant.

    The summary is that Easter is the festival of worshiping Ishtar who is the goddess of war and sexual love. The bunny rabbit is derived from the never ending copulation of rabbits thus representing fertility. We are suppose to celebrate the Passover and not Easter. BTW I am NOT Jewish but I read my Bible

  6. 🛑🛑 Christians make up the WACKIEST stories to cover themselves 🛑🛑

    The feast day of Easter was first a PAGAN holiday of renewal and rebirth. Honored in the early spring, it praised the PAGAN GODDESS of fertility and spring known as ‘Ostara’, ‘Eastre’ or ‘Eostre’.

    All that silly egg story about Jesus is a relaunch of paganism, it has nothing to do with Christianity AT ALL.

    🎄UPDATE: The Christmas tree has NOTHING TO DO WITH Christianity either, it was overtaken by PAGANS honoring the winter solstice. Jesus’s actual birth date was more closely in the EARLY SPRING, not December at all.

  7. Unfortunately, some early Christians were just as susceptible to following paganism as some present day Christians. The Roman Empire mandated celebrating Easter and the tradition continues to this day.

    Christians celebrating the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ on Easter, should not use the symbols associated with Easter paganism. They should try to follow the way to honor Christ as he instructed for the New Covenant – The Lord’s Last Supper;

    18. for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”

    20. Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.”

    Some Christians try to follow the Old Covenant Passover tradition during Easter, but it’s not really necessary. Besides, it was reserved for only the Jewish people to prepare them for Christ’s arrival on Earth.

    Also, God in His mercy and grace understands people’s tendency to idol worship. He wants us to have faith in Him instead, because He loves us – something idols can never do.

  14. Someone played an egg on a nerve. The increase in egg prices is Gods message to us to divert from our heathen beliefs of egg laying rabbits and the soul corrupting fir tree. Y’all must be pleasant company during the holidays.

  15. The name you use for it is of lesser significance compared to the importance of the feast in celebration of our Lord Jesus Christ’s resurrection. In the Orthodox Christian tradition, this is called Pascha although it is occasionally also called Easter.

    In pre-Christian Eastern European cultures, decorated eggs were traditional gifts to celebrate all kinds of important events. With the advent of Orthodox Christianity, eggs were naturally used to celebrate Pascha as well. The eggs are ancillary and not symbolic in this tradition.

  16. However the ‘religious’ sects call it. The true meaning of Easter is Yeshua (Jesus) rose from death. The point is that Yeshua OVERCAME death, spoke to thousand’s and ascended to the Father and provided us the gift of overcoming earthly death. If we as humans accept this gift, we will rise from death to be with Yeshua and the Father forever. It’s that simple. To accept this gift, all you have to do is believe Yeshua rose and overcame death. However we are brainwashed by religions does not matter, if we believe, we are saved.

  19. The Church uses the wackiest methods/styles to get even the stupids to accept a Philosphy, lifestyle choice, mentality…
    than can only help them.

    The Church is not holy, it is a human institution. (Tell that to your pastor/reverend/priest and watch them turn red.)
    It is an organization of humans doing their best to turn heads toward the Lord.

    Most lapses are forgivable imo, because I try to conform to the teachings of Jesus.

  23. Pagans didn’t steal anything from Christians. On the contrary, it was Christians who used Pagan practices to convert them to Christianity. Specifically Easter(eggs) around the spring equinox and Christmas(decorating a tree and gift giving) around winter solstice.
