  1. Back in the dark ages, when I was in high school, we all use to hurry home to watch an episode of the Three Stooges and the Marx Brothers. You had to pay close attention to both.

  2. I loved the three stooges, and Curly was my favorite! When I was a youngin we lived kidy-korner across the street from the school bus stop, but I still missed the bus a few times because I was watching the Stooges. It wasn’t a problem back then, I got on my bike and still made roll call.

I remember that one. The pretty actress in the scene couldn’t help laughing at Curly’s antics. I think she may have fallen out of character, but she couldn’t help but laugh.

  4. Back in ’66 I discovered UHF channels one night when I couldn’t sleep.
    9 y.o.

I kept the volume low and my brother (sleeping in the same room) seemed to be a heavy sleeper. He never woke up.

I got hooked on the Stooges, Our Gang, Laurel and Hardy, The Marx bros, and whatever 1920s to 1950s B&W stuff was on then. We didn’t get color TV for a few more years, so it made no diff it was B&W, That’s all I knew. No one else I knew ever talked about these shows so I felt like I fell into a wonderful secret place of enjoyment.

That said, I was frustrated at how stupid many characters were. Lucy Mcgillicuddy in particular. The wit of Mr Marx was much appreciated by me.

  5. Love the Three Stooges. Watched them since I was a kid. Now, I get to watch them Saturdays on MeTV. Still hilarious. Curly is absolutely my favorite. Knowing he was so dedicated to caring for animals makes him more endearing.

  6. The boomers had the best humor when we were growing up, between the 3 Stooges, the Marx Bros. and Looney tunes and old Disney cartoons as well as Rocky and Bullwinkle we had it all. And a little later The Firesign Theater. And Stan Freeberg too, you can’t ask for better comedy, humor and satire. And don’t forget the old Mad magazines as well. And if you’re an old fart like me the timeless slapstick comedies of Laurel and Hardy, the Keystone cops and my favorite Buster Keaton.

  7. The Stooges are some of the best comedians ever. For Me hard to pick a favorite from the originals. Even after watching them for years so many thing to discover in their excellent comedy. and unlike much new vulgar humor it is still funny after all these years.

Both the tree Stooges and The Marx Brothers comedy was actually pretty deep. You can watch an episode 4 times and on the 5th time pick up something new. And hilarious.
