  1. It’s odd to me that they call that a lake. Not being familiar with Austin, I took a look at the map and Lady Bird Lake is actually just a stretch of the Colorado River running through the middle of town.

I haven’t read that any of these corpses were floaters. Is there any mention of how they’ve been weighted down? Whatever it is appears to be very effective and I’d like to know how to do that for future reference. For a friend. 🙄

  2. Sounds gang-related (cartel?) to me. And the authorities probably know this. But it’s easier—and safer for them—to pretend it might be a serial killer rather than take a hard look at some bad hombres.

  3. @Uncle Al,

It’s a height controlled lake. They have a dam that keeps it at a constant level. When lake Travis discharges water, it gets pumped to the customer, or released via Lady Bird lake. It’s lined with parks and party spots, and yes bars. It also has a bunch of jogging trails, and apparently there’s some areas where the trails and the lake meet in ways that can lead to a jogger going swimming.

There’s been a lot of missing people turn into floaters over the last couple years. I can’t say I know much more than that, as I avoid Austin like the plague.
