The Supreme Court on Monday allowed the Trump administration to move ahead with plans to carry out mass layoffs at the Department of Education that were blocked by a federal judge.
The conservative-majority court, without any explanation, granted an emergency application from the administration that blocks the federal judge’s ruling.
The court’s three liberal members objected, with Justice Sonia Sotomayor writing a blistering[ly stupid] dissenting opinion. More

I’m wondering what your point is? They tried. They failed. Couldn’t get the votes. One thing that concerns me is I’ve recently noticed a trend to run Reagan down. I would argue Reagan is at least the step father of MAGA. A great President.
Next thing you know they’ll be running down Chuck Heston. Love that guy. From my cold dead hands.
Best ever video of Gods Going To Cut You Down. Never met these guys, but I know them.

Future historians, at least the honest one’s, will argue who was the better president.
A few similarities; both arrived exactly when the country needed them, both possessed a stealy eyed understanding of the enemies within (godless liberals) and an indomitable will to fight them at every turn, and of course, they loved their country, what it stood for and its inherent goodness.

Virtual high five. One thing Reagan did do was take us off the gold standard. Bad advice? Both men are human. I’ve read reports that state during the last four years DJT has camped out with Art Laffer. A good choice. We have a huge enemy to defeat. And they are just now revealing themselves. Keep the faith.
Nixon took us off the gold standard. His hand was forced by Charles De Gaulle who told the world he’d take their dollars (for Francs) then demand gold in exchange for dollars. Between Vietnam, the Great Society and De Gaulle, Nixon didn’t have much choice in 1973. That’s why people got real curious about how much gold was left in Fort Knox starting in the 70s.- Dr. Tar
“If Trump shuts down the Department of Education, who will pay the grant money that supports my non-profit that offers in-home one-on-one training to teach kindergarteners to put a condom on my… er… a banana. This is life of death knowledge I’m spreading here!”

I remember reading a book in the 80s or 90s that I think was about homeschooling (can’t find it at the moment to confirm specific topic, title, author or date) that went into details of the problems with our public education system. This was well before any of the far left radical problems that have come up recently. I’m not even sure it was all that political in tone. More about how and why public schools were massively failing to educate students.
So, it’s about time something happens to shift the balance back to local communities and parents.
