Fauja Singh, an Indian-born runner nicknamed the Turbaned Torpedo who was believed to be the world’s oldest marathon runner, has died after being hit by a car. He was 114.
Local media in India reported that Singh sustained severe head injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Monday while he was crossing the road at his native village near Jalandhar in Punjab. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. His London-based running club and charity, Sikhs In The City, confirmed his death. More
I don’t know why I laughed when I heard this story last night. Something must have just struck me. – Dr. Tar
Obligatory: He died doing what he loved.
Seriously, I’m in awe. Making it to 114 is awesome by itself. Anyone over 100 who can run at all, even 10 steps, is also awesome. But running marathons at age 114?!? No words.
RIP, Mr. Torpedo.
There is a Tsunami evac in Seward AK. . .
also, Turbinado Sugar is real raw sugar.

No more fake plastic sweet syrups.
Back to the real things, baby.

That sucks. Happy trails Mr. Torpedo.
I have relatives over a hundred and it ain’t pretty. What little goes in seems to multiply on the way out and without warning. The human body doesn’t function normally especially when that person was never physically active and refuses to eat anything but junk food.
