According to the group’s mission statement [The People’s Sick Day], they plan to institute a so-called “economic blackout.” Its members would either call out of work sick or take sick time for three days, not spending any money during those three days. For those unable to take time off from work, they ask that those members do the bare minimum at their jobs, meaning no unpaid overtime and no special favors for their employers. I’m guessing that those who would do this won’t be missed because they don’t have much to contribute in the workplace anyway.
I think those that participate will only prove their worthlessness & many will end up with a more permanent time off situation than they expect.
I’m ok with that.
If I had done that more than once when I worked for a wholesale florist delivering flowers I would’ve been fired immediately by my boss, and I’d have no one to blame by myself. And if I had tried that when I was in the Navy, I would’ve spent some time in the brig. No thanks on either one. I very rarely called in sick unless I was puking my guts up and crapping my brains out. If you want to be a skate expect severe consequences or else.

I don’t see a downside in this.
Basic economic understanding is closely related to understanding the concepts of freedom and property ownership, which govt schooling is dedicated to eradicating.
These sickos have evidently attended govt “schools” and many then went into debt to go to institutions of higher conditioning.
Imagine that! The HR Department closed for three days because the karens blew-in sick.
Imagine companies that figure out they can do without HR due to this action.
They’ve tried this multiple times before. Most of these idiots live in moms basement and are unemployed. There’s not enough of them to make a fart in a windstorms difference. They don’t realize they are a tiny minority.
A boycott against a company works because you STOP buying from them and shop elsewhere (forever ideally, or untilthey change policy). Not shopping for 3 days, while stocking up beforehand…you know they will…or buying lots more when it’s over…you know they will…hurts NOBODY in the end. Doing the bare minimum at work is likely how these folks operate normally, so again no issues. And if their behavior is obvious to their employer, hopefully they will be fired and replaced by someone who is happy to have a job.
One of the things I learned in business is that economic impact is measured by the month or, more likely, the quarter. A three-day event will even out over a month and be imperceptible over a quarter. These people are idiots
Let’s see now. No spending money means no Uber or Lyft. No Door Dash or Fast Food. No going to the Nightclub to party over those 3 days. They are all going to need counseling.
This may well give the employer an eye-opening realization of just how important the employee may or may not be to the company.
