An herbal supplement billed as a “feel-good tonic” is sparking concerns about potentially dangerous health effects.
Some users claim that Feel Free, a plant-based product made by Botanic Tonics in Oklahoma, is highly addictive.
The tonic, which is also available in capsule form, is sold at many gas stations and retailers across the U.S. More
Healthline on energy drink addiction Here
I’m a life long gym rat and I will tell you these damn energy drinks and pre work out drinks will kill you. If you’re a young person with an un diagnosed heart condition, these drinks will point it out to you in a hurry. They are deadly. I know RFK jr is aware. I hope he bans the damn things. If you’re a weight lifter and need to take a pre workout drink to “get up for your work out” maybe you should try yoga.
Aside from some coffee and an occasional adult beverage I only drink water, none of that other junk; fruit juice, soda, flavored water, none of it.
Being an athlete my whole life I pretty much lived on carbs and sugar. But when I turned 65, I took longevity seriously. My workout regimen did not change but my diet did, and everything improved. I slept better, had more energy, even my cognitive skills improved.
For those old folks here willing to do the work, I got two book recommendations;

Old age does not have to kick your ass.
From about the age of twenty I consume proteins and greens. Very few carbs, virtually no sugars. Post cancer and at 69 I was asked by a young weight lifter if I were Natty. I repeated the question and answered yes. He looked me in the eyes and said, no your not. I laughed and told him, well I’m half natty. Hilarity ensued. I’ve been killing it in the gym. Pretty damn proud of myself actually.
What’s “natty”?
SPEAKING OF ALL THIS HERBAL ENERGY BULLSHIT, HAVE ANY OF YOU WHO LOVED CRACKER BARREL, WITH THE SHOTGUN OVER THE FIREPLACE, MAMA’S COOKING, ETC, BEING SERVED GOOD RANCH FOOD SEEN THIS??

thats a cracker barrel?
Anyone getting huge pop-ups with Musk and an onion on someone’s foot?
Natty – natural. No muscle/body enhancing drugs etc.
“Anyone getting huge pop-ups with Musk and an onion on someone’s foot?”
It’s getting really fucking old. Yes.
Natty, no steroids.
Half Natty, everything but steroids.
I’m getting Musk and that woman that does remodeling.
The 1/2 page add I had to shut down every time I made any clicks was bad enough. Now I need to click the full page add off and the click the half page off. I have better things to do.
^^^^ Yup….American Thinker has become obscene with ads….Diogenes quit her blog….Irish is about half-assed now….Knuckledraggin is gonna quit by the end of the year….
Raspberry pi + pi hole = no ads
I don’t even know how to pronounce kratom the ingredient in the Feel Free energy drink. Is it kraytom or kratom like in atom, I don’t know. I see the shit advertised at coffee stands and convenience stores all the time now for the past couple of years or so. It’s just another damned worthless harmful stimulant that will probably be regulated by the feds soon.
Do you have any idea how much it costs to run this site?
BFH doesn’t charge anyone to read or comment, he just has a donation link. He won’t beg for donations.
Don’t like the ads? Neither does he. What do you suggest?
Claudia – About the ads: the site has become a mine field of ads, however I understand that it pays the bills. As such I don’t complain, but I don’t like them. I am used to them as I think are most here here, but there are limits. Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems like participation may be falling off as well.
Additionally I would also be concerned about scaring away newcommers who think “get me out of here” when they encounter the amount of intrusive ads for the first time.
What to do? I honestly have no idea of the advertising details involved so the only thing I would suggest is have a lot of discussion about this.
It may have to come to a nominal subcription with the first few months (or so) free for new commers. It doesn’t mean the elimination of ads, let it be a mix, just responsible use of ads. Get rid of the intrusive ones and the disgusting ones. If that is the case I’ll pony up. Donations are fine, but I think a lot of people need prodding with a scheduled structure and I think (I hope) there are enough people with interesting comments and dialog to keep it afloat.
I know a lot of details need to be worked out (like maybe a red checkmark for participants as one little thing) but don’t let the advertising machine own you.
I use Keaton on and off for pain, been doing so for a few years no issues and generally works better and IMHO is safer for your liver than Tylenol. I don’t believe this crap about addiction and side effects I think it’s big pharma propaganda to remove another safe and effective supplement that it is cutting into their sales. been stocking up for the last few months, since I saw this propaganda beginning a few months ago. Always the saw M.O. the kids are gonna Die! they are addicted! They did the same thing with Phen Phen the best natural and effective weight loss supplement that was on the market. Now, can you overdose on Kratom? probably if you take a whole bag of pills at once but people OD on Tylenol, caffeine and even cake for crying out loud.
Claudia – Another option, used by some other sites, is to go ad-free subcriptions. You may view and participate for free, but you get all the ads. Subcribe and you go ad-free.
Just a suggestion.
I have to admit that I haven’t donated in a while, which places me at part of the problem with the adds.
As far as energy supplements… Everything in moderation. Too much water can kill you.
I run the Opera browser with its built in ad block turned on… haven’t seen an ad yet lolz.
Too much of anything can kill you which is why everything should be in moderation.
