Suffolk County Sheriff Steven Tompkins federally indicted on extortion charges

Suffolk County Sheriff Steven Tompkins was arrested Friday after a federal grand jury indicted him for allegedly extorting a cannabis company seeking to open a dispensary in Boston.

Tompkins, 67, is accused of extorting $50,000 from an executive with the unnamed national cannabis retailer by leveraging a key partnership between his office and the dispensary. Federal prosecutors allege Tompkins first pressured the executive into selling him equity interest in the company, then into refunding his buy-in when share prices dipped.

Tompkins was arrested in Florida Friday morning on two counts of extortion under color of official right, U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley’s office said in a news release. He was scheduled to make his initial court appearance at 11 a.m. It was unclear Friday morning whether Tompkins had an attorney who could comment on his behalf; a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office was not immediately reachable.  more here

  1. We are witnessing an explosion of corruption and violence against whites by a group of characterless people of a particular content of color.

  2. I’m of the opinion that this sort of felony is ubiquitous and the perps (almost) always skate because so many pols and bureaucrats are in on the deals. So, Tompkins must have neglected to pay the US Attorney his cut.

  3. …DeWhine, the RINO gov of Ohio, fought long and hard against “legalization”.

Not to stop it, but to make SURE wharever bill passed made it so it could only be grown and dustributed by State-contolled cartels chosen by him.

…but Im SURE theres no corruption involved and that everything is totes honest…/s

  4. Different Tim – Same thing with alcohol. A hundred years ago the Government saw how much organized crime was making on illegal alcohol, they legalized in order to get a piece of the action!
