Kansas City’s Government Run Grocery Has Closed

Kansas City Star

After months of struggling and millions of dollars from the city, the Sun Fresh Linwood has closed.

The grocery store on Kansas City’s East side – 3110 Wabash Ave. – was locked Tuesday. A black tarp covered its logo, and a sign on its door announced to customers that it would not reopen. More

  1. Y’see, when there is a food desert the reason is the people in the area, not greedy corporate malefactors, usually. If your teenage stock boys have to carry tasers to stay alive you have a problem that goes way beyond a lack of grocery store options. Y’see, the problem is the PEOPLE WHO LIVE THERE. Not whitey, or jew boy, or the K’reeans, La Razza, Amerinds, or any of that. The problem is the PEOPLE WHO LIVE THERE. And whom might that be? Really? Imagine! It’s them again? It’s always them… and we all know it.

  2. The Wegmans supermarket I shop at (the only left in the city) has a manned city police car in the parking lot at all times when they’re open. A few years ago, Blamtifa staged a surprise protest at the store and blocked off the entrances to the parking lot, shut the place down for a day. I’ve also heard from some employees that workers were being harassed and threatened in the parking lot.

  3. I would suggest that the politicians promoting government grocery stores take a field trip to Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea or anywhere else governed by communists to see how successful government grocery stores are. Part of the problem stems from supply (collective farming operations aren’t successful either), but customers of government stores usually have to line up for limited quantities of substandard products that may or may not be available in the first place.
