Call It What It Is

President Donald Trump said Monday he is considering renaming the Defense Department to the Department of War “over the next week or so.”

Trump revealed his plan during a White House visit by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, as the topic turned to the recent deployment of National Guard troops in Washington, D.C.

“Pete Hegseth has been incredible with the, as I call it, the Department of War,” Trump told reporters. “You know, we call it the Department of Defense, but between us, I think we’re going to change the name. You want to know the truth? I think we’re going to have some information on that maybe soon.” More

  1. I’m all for it. Department of War is what it is, and it’s honest. It was namby-pamby Democrats who changed it, thanks to Harry S.

p.s. Even more honest would be the Department of Killing People and Blowing Shit Up but I suspect there might be objections to that level of transparency.

  2. It’s hard to call it the Department of Defense with a straight face, when you’ve got 800 military bases all around the world. Calling it the Office of Empire Enforcement wouldn’t offend me at all.

  3. Not worth it.
Think of the costs of switching every single sign, logo, letterhead, computer programming on absolutely everything.

Besides, Defensive Attack sounds much nicer than WAR BOMBING Iran into the Bronze Age.

  4. Maybe to keep the Leftists from fucking it up again combine the names to make “The Department Of War And Defense”. Declare war when needed and also aid in defending our Country from TERRORISTS, ILLEGALS, DOPE SMUGGLERS and HUMAN TRAFFICKERS.

  5. Come to think of it, what’s now the State Dept should get merged in to DoD (and CIA, DIA, and a few others) and the whole thing renamed Department of International Cooperation or Coercion (Choose Wisely).
