Shortly after my 1st assignment, an IN BN, was given the ‘volunteer opportunity’ for a 6mo OCONUS “vacation” down there during his little expedition. I led counter a sniper team supporting one of the ‘Civil Affairs’ Groups setting up schools & hospitals in the bush. No regrets. Knew of, but never met him, or her. Believed (still do) that he received a raw deal.
